Picking it up tomorrow! Yay! Only been waiting about 3 years to do this! And by this I mean the idea, not necessarily this specific config.

That i7 870 is an excellent CPU. If I had done better research I would've gone with it instead of my i7 920.

Geesh...at least I didn't post my costs included with everything. And you said I was bragging? Eeeeek! :wtf:

Ja, been researching this very carefully. Been waiting a looong time man. So excited. One thing though that I'm NOT looking forward to is the reinstall of everything, save games, mails and blah blah blah. Very time consuming.

Neo, I merely stated the cost because Voicy asked. That's not bragging, that's answering a question.

I can see you talking, but all I'm hearing is "blah blah blah double standards".

Usually I would say "congrats on the epic machine" and "I hope you have a lot of fun with it" - but after the flippen lashing you plonkers gave me I actually feel the need to say "mine's better than yours naananananana". But that's okay. I'll get over it.

Nice one! Enjoy it! Given me some ideas for my upgrade, thanks :D

Yeah, unless you can afford the i7 950 or bigger, this is a nice route to go. And this board has pretty much all the features and gadgets you could want. It overclocks very easily, even for novices.

Yeah, I'm looking for a decent CPU - but it doesn't have to be the best. I'm more looking out for storage space, and I might need to run 2 OSs on my PC, so I was thinking 2x 1TB HDDs - but you have given me some good guidelines, thanks.

Yeah, HDD's are pretty cheap at the moment. We have Seagate 1TB's here at work going for R553 ex VAT for instance. I would love to have gone SSD, but they are simply too expensive still.
