Alienware lands in South Africa - details

No lol they aren't that bad, I got myself a M17x, but not form Incredible though, Directly from Dell

I guess, but considering that the new Macbook Pro is also around that price, and I see every second Sandtonite walking around with one of them, its not that bad

Waste of money to spend so much on any equipment that goes out dated fast:(

FINALLY. I've tried a few times to get a custom built m17x through dell's online forms delivered to SA, they just wouldn't deliver here.

See now THIS is good news. SA is finally getting some awesome PC related stuff. This is probably the best news I've read all week.

R33k for a notebook is insanity. There is no way I could justify spending that kind of $$$ on a notebook. The only advantage this has is its mobility.

I could build a very, nay, a kick-ass PC and probably include a motorised cart for mobility for that kind of money.

But will it look better than the Alienware?
Anyway, I don't need to justify it to anyone, I ordered one, I didn't ask anyone else to :)

These prices are over the top. But then what did anyone expect when its exclusive to incredible corruption.

Btw. What do you guys mean with officially launched in SA because alienware has been available from pc direct for some time now.

BTW. You can get those same alienware models for a lot cheaper from pc direct(http://www.pc-direct.co.za/)

Yeah I also didn't get the "Exclusive" thing
We had choices as far as a year back from Dell between the old Alienware and the XPS

Same, probably build a i3, 4GB & GTS450 and keep the change for when I need a upgrade.
Oh well good to know we not being overlooked in the hardware department, too bad you getting a so-so laptop for that price. Core i7 clocked at 1.7Ghz? I understand it's Quad core with HT

Hmmm, so how do you calculate 10% again.....?
"Take the limit of the partial integral from x=-T/2 to T/2 of f '(x) as t tends to infinity with y treated as a constant and then ......."

Lolololol. Scary thing is I understood half of that :wtf:

R32 999? O.o *starts saving* Maybe I can buy it in like twenty years or so.

This is a rich man's celebration. Besides, Alienware aren't the only people who make good gaming laptops. There are other developers out there making good ones at far cheaper prices. You just have to look for them.

No! You need to be raped over the knuckles boy! I was dragged by my ears through the fiery coals of heck because I dared to buy a 10 grand CPU - so now it's your turn! burn baby burn!! lol
