Local Xbox LIVE gets dated tomorrow [UPDATE]

Whats the bet announcement will be something along these lines.....

" Xbox Live for SA coming in December 2012, You will have to pay R500 a month for Gold, No you cannot transfer your scores as you lied in the TOU when u made the account"

My only concern is that they will give a meager local XBL service - in the sense that newly released content will not be available locally when released internationally.
Also, that all the content currently on UK/US XBL will not be available, such as XBLgames, demos, DLC, news and/or other shows.
In essence, a completely stripped down XBL - just so that MS can say that SA have XBL support...
That. will. suck.
If so, then i'll rather stay on my UK account!

At least new 360 owners can hook up on the local server.
I was considering getting the slim for Fable III, the rest of my games are for PS3.

The announcement is great, but only in theory.
Consider that a UK 12 month subscripion costs ~R360 (vs R599) and 2100 MSP cost ~R190 (vs R299)
Not to mention that you seemingly can't redownload your XBL content after the SA migration.

That's snowballing into a pretty big downside there. :|
I'll be sticking to my existing UK account, thanks.
I just hope they remove the retarded geolocation IP blocking on Duke Nukem 3D in XBLA. :)

As stefkruger has mentioned, not worth porting over if its going to cost that much more for a gold account and MS points. Surely there is a standard price worldwide that microsoft imposed or is it just a number that microsoft SA thumbsucked? Why is it 40% cheaper to buy a digital product from the UK (with one of the highest exchange rate for us) then buy locally? Just doesn't make sense to be honest.

Well I have 2 accounts, one is a US account and the other is a UK account. I think I'll move my US account over and see how it goes. But if they're going to schnaai us with those prices for Gold memberships and inflated point prices, I'm going to keep my UK account right where it is thanks.
