We have some good news and some bad news about Fallout New Vegas…



The good news is that the local distributor will now be hitting the international street date and Fallout New Vegas will now be releasing in SA on the 22nd of October – that’s next week Friday.



The bad news is that, after weeks of begging, we’ve finally received confirmation of the number of units available to us for the Collector’s Editions and things are not looking great – Bethesda have cut the allocation for the SA market by 80% and we’re only receiving a fifth of our original order on PC. We’ve tried every avenue to get extra stock but to no avail and this means that there are pre-orders that we are not going to be able to fulfill - sadly yours is one of those. We’re really, really sorry about this!

So, what now?

We thought you might still want a copy of the standard edition so we’re downgrading your pre-order and we’re knocking off an additional R50 off the price. You will now only be billed R296.46 for your game. You will also still get the free t-shirt. If you would prefer to cancel your order completely instead then you can do so via the website or by contacting our customer support department on 021 468 9200.

But that is just messed up so it gets a week early release yet its been cut by 80% wtf that makes no freaking sense

Yep just checked my mail and mine has been downgraded to the standard edition also. Bummer... Always nice being the ass end of the world. :/
 
i'm curious though.... as it only seems that this has happened to kalari if it also happened to say btgames and retailers.
 
Well seeing as we are so few that is exited about this game I can't really say since nobody else has said anything.
And well kalahari is the biggest online retailer in sa I would say it counts for all of the retailers and online shops.
 
Personally I find it just ridiculous when a retailer decides to cancel your pre-order. You need to make certain what your allocation is before promising customers something you can't deliver.
 
I never really get why they make it so hard to get CE games. Are they worried they won't sell, or are they just trying to make sure they are truly Collectors Editions (rare)? Either way I find it stupid business since it means more money for them if people are willing to buy them, and often people go without.

Meh! Maybe I am missing something.

yeah and whats the point of pre-ordering a thing when in the end your not getting what you payed for.

But, in light of my rant earlier, I have yet to receive an email from Kalahari regarding this. Probably get it on Monday :rolleyes:
 
also got mine cancelled. have emailed take 2 to see if they still have.

I am really pissed off, was super psyced to get it. I don't get how you can make such a fuck up a week before release and only announce it now that don't have enough.

What is the point of a pre-order if you can't cater for it!!!! That's what a pre-order is for!!!!

I normally find that when this happens I can go to Take2 and get what I originally wanted. When BT and Kalahari wouldn't stock the CE of Civ V I went to Take2 and got the CE and it even arrived a day early. This has happened with other orders as well. So mabye you guys should try and pre-order/buy New Vegas off Take2?
