Pfff... I learnt a valuable lesson from StarCraft 2's CE--pre-order the moment you can otherwise risk paying a small fortune :p

Hope you find one, Necuno. Worst case scenario prowl around the BT Games stores in your area and grab an uncollected one :D 'tis what I did with SC2 >:3

Well, the PC CE on Take2 is no longer available for pre-order. I think that they would've sent off the evil e-mails by now if they were going to. Funnily enough, I pre-ordered mine during Take2's birthday bash, so I have free delivery to boot :D

filling for refund from kalahari on monday since they was unable to cancel my order on friday. at least i had another "R500" to do quick preorder on vegas at take2 :)
 
meh, onto 3rd option as i just got this from take2

Our supplier has informed us we will only be receiving a very limited amount of the Fallout: New Vegas - Collector's Edition (PC DVD-ROM). As a result we have now cancelled your pre-order.

We have not charged you for the order.

Hey yeah, at least it's not something like "Unfortunately Fallout New Vegas will no longer be released in some countries, South Africa amongst an other selected few...."
 
well duh gonna get the standard edition still :p

But if you order something that's better than the standard it would be nice to actually get it and not told a week before that sooorry for you, we don't have enough now even though you pre-ordered ages ago.

I'm happy going to get the t-shirt still.

Actually for some people it's more about the collector's items that come with the game. I, for one, really want the deck of cards and the graphic novel. So much so that if I can't get a CE anymore I will not buy the game at all, at least not now.

EDIT: Haven't read through the whole thread. Is it only the PC CE that there is a problem with? If so, then I'm sorted.

If you love collecting games, you generally want the more exclusive edition most other people wouldn't have. Personally, I love the making-of goodies, art and other select items that just enhance the experience.

What's your next move, Necuno? I still maintain that you stalk a couple of BT Games outlets on Friday morning :D

shop whoring is always option if this does not work which i've lined up :D
 
It really is more about the concept. If you preorder you do so in order to guarantee your copy. The retailer should not be accepting preorders if they can't guarantee you that you will receive your copy.

I wasn't going to buy this but in the end I gave in and got a copy from steam. Still apprenhensive but we will see. Already preloaded just waiting for the unlock.

But yeah that's what I am thinking as well I mean if you pre-order the copy you would expect to get a copy.
