Darksiders: Wrath of War PC review (MyGaming)

Great review, I couldn't agree more. There is enough variety to keep you busy for a while in the game and the puzzles are challenging but not overly difficult. I am playing the game with a mouse/keyboard and it works really well.

Got this last week - haven't installed it yet though. Good to see it's not just a port and actually playable.

I have not purchased this yet. On my to play list... :D

To those have seen it both on PS3 and PC, Are there any differences? or is it better playing on it on PS3 or PC?

It's on my list too, might get it next month if I get time to play it in between all the Steam specials. :D

I saw this is in the shop but honestly can imagine playing it with a keyboard/mouse. I had it on xbox and was not overly impressed, not a bad game just not, in my opinion, the epic others made it out to be... it was also too easy.

Hi Kyubi_Brat: I played Darksiders only briefly on an Xbox 360 so I can't comment from first hand experience. Vigil Games has taken advantage of what a PC offers over a console - higher resolution graphics and vertical sync immediately comes to mind. You can also force settings in your GPU control panel, such as insane levels of anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering for nice crisp distant textures.

I'm only making an assumption here, but based on my experience on the PC version, there is no draw distance issue, something which is common on console versions of games.

I reckon Vigil did a smashing job getting Darksiders polished up for its PC debut.

OmegaFenix22: Did you play it on apocalyptic difficulty?

Jeez Tinman must hate you James lmao :p

Making you rewrite an entire article when they already did a review prior to this one on console :p

Not a bad game, I am still trying to finish it on Xbox but as Omega mentioned I could think of nothing worse than playing this on a keyboard / mouse.

Yep pretty sure I did... Now a days I play all my games on the hardest difficulty.

For me the hard parts where not hard due to it being challenging but it was hard coz of stupid mechanics. Like i said not bad, but having played GOW I right after this, i think the original God of War from 2003/2 is the better game.

Thanks :)

PC it is.

Not a bad game at all, kinda enjoying it. Just before I played darksiders I had played DMC4 which it has a lot in common with, even to the point where I got confused because the targeting button was on a different place.
I would describe the game as tomb raider meets DMC

Just note that Obsibian armor is bugged, it only supports Xbox360 controllers(or emulated), Nvidia 7xxx class graphics cards gives graphical corruptions which won't be fixed. It requires steam which will download a 250meg patch.

oh and before I forget, I had a problem with stuttering into/cutscenes, to fix that you need to turn on Vsync with your Nvidia control panel, haven't tried the in-game Vsync yet.

Got this for friend for his birthday. Really worth it. :)
Only issue was that there didn't seem to be way to configure a non-xbox controller's button layout,
if there is a way to do it please pm it to me!

My friend is currently using my xbox controller and I wouldn't mind having it back early.

Use the Xbox360 controller emulator:
http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/detail?name=x360ce.App-2.0.2.90.zip&can=2&q=

I use it just in about every game that can be played with a controller. Don't have to worry about the axis being reversed, buttons being swapped etc ever again, my Logitech gamepad functions exactly like a Xbox360 controller.

I am playing this game. Not a bad game at all pleasantly surprised.

The controls work well with keyboard and mouse combo.
