^^ yeah like their stuff.

But yeah I think those are more like hotels since that's seems to be always the idea behind these. You will see the panes of glass I was talking about is also there.

I think the idea is sound, you could technically create a eco-friendly floating community, only problem would be how to recieve income. There i would say make it a freeport. but they you are always going to have alien people mixing with you people and the chances of corution of the gene pool is more likely.

Ok, but how is that structure actually supported? Can one actually go through that middle piece under water?

/Cheers czc

Yeah been racking my brain to try and figure that out. So far I got bamboo wood, hydrogen, fresh food and vegetables, fish. Well you don't necessary have to let them into the city only a port.

Yeah the pressure on that structure at the bottom is not so big that it will be a problem. I am more worried about the amount of rain that that thing will collect and where it will all flow to unless there is a water collecting system incorporated into the design itself.

Has to be. But just wait for:

a) Rise in sea levels
b) Freak storm
c) Winds of hurricane proportion

Lets see what their solution to these are.

A Structure like an oilrig that sits high aboute the water so that unless the water risies about 50-100 meters ur ok and the same would go for waves. Wind is another story.

well lets say someone forgets oil on the stove and yeah well their apartment starts burning and well if they burn a hole in the city the city can go down :s Too many scary movies on sea and disasters about ships I blame history channel

Lol. Well the firstly the city wont be floating...
Secondly i dont think anybody would put a wall thin enough for fire to burn through on a floating city.
Like most modern building propper fire supression systems will be in place plus there are sealable bulkheads for a reason.
