Setup as in speakers + soundcard, or setup as in physical separation of the speakers?

If the former, I have the Z-5500s and an x-fi platinum connected via optical. If the latter, I have the front speakers equidistant from each other and point in slightly, with the centre speaker in front of them (volume is slight decrease to adjust for this). Rear speakers are slightly behind me, at the same height, pointing in, with a slight volume increase :)

MY 5.1 is very old. Got them in 2005 logitech. They are actually 6.1 but that never ever worked. I am using onboard sound and must admit it sounds great for onboard. Alas all my money goes to my passion my damn electric guitar. But they work and sound awesome. My placing is very strange but it works so much better than right behind me. I actually get frights some times:p
