Unfinished Game Releases

Atleast one. ONE. EA games, ALL of them, have MANY, and half of the time ONE of those MANY make the game completely unplayable.

And I'm just using PC because it tends to get the buggier games that are out there.

Yip PC, except for Blizzard with there 5+ year dev cycle, really gets the short end of the stick 99% of the time. I guess PC specs are also variable throwing a problem into the mix + consoles have MS and Sony QC to go through so more issues get ironed out. The days of dedicated PC games is also dying out so few PC exclusives are getting made now. Presume there ain't as much money in PC gaming as there is in consoles.

90% of the bugs are actually due to hardware not to the actual game itself on PC releases, PoP SoT had a lovely one where you could barely play it due to the game not knowing how fast or slow to run on a dual core machine, it also didn't like anything above a Geforce 6 series so you had to download a patch to rectify that.
Assassins Creed had a patch released to make it run on X64 versions of Windows, and fixes problems with Altairs robe being corrupted on certain graphics cards.
This leads to the fact that in the entire history of PC gaming there hasn't really been a completely bug free game released on it, same as consoles. Even the classic Doom had numerous patches released to add support for this or that, it is something that has been happening for years and will unlikely change. What is kak is that releasing massive DLC packs like 3 days after releasing the game???

I can understand small unforseeable bugs in games. But as I keep saying, EA game bugs are huge and obvious and completely avoidable if they are willing to push back releace even a single month. But EA does not do that, EA wants the money and they want it now. Well guess what, there not getting mine.

And I've said how I feel about DLC a few times allready. Give me a DVD with no less than half the orginal game's size in 100% new content, and I'll consider buying it, even at the same price of the original game. And DO NOT try and fuck me over by selling me something THAT IS ALLREADY INSTALLED ON MY PC FROM THE ORIGINAL DISC!

Ya, welcome to the age of 'GAMES IN INSTALLMENTS' (That ETV guy's voice). From this day forward games shall be released in episodes. Remember the days of 10 floppys for 1 game? Well now we have 10 episodes of COD, one for each mission at the small cost of $9.99 per level! How kak.

Raven you are aware that EA is a distributor, publisher and a developer right? Similar to Ubisoft and Activision right? They don't necessarily make the games so they cannot be blamed for all the bad you seem to throw at them, I mean they didn't make Crysis, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge and various others they just published or distributed them, yes I find their freaking activation system archaic I've only got 1 Mass Effect activation left thanks to my one PC being stolen, another crashing etc...

EA, publishes the games, EA, funds the development, if EA wants to avoid a bad reputation, they can exact thier own quality controll, but they do the exact opposite and force the developers into producing low quality product with impossible deadlines.

You forgot to mention killing all creativity in their dev studios. RIP Westwood.

Though to be fair, they can take a chance once in a while... like they did with their complete revamp of FIFA09 (or was it 08?) that actually competed with PES as opposed to limping slowly behind it and eating it's dust). Competition is goooood.

Or alternatively you could just take off you "I hate EA"....

Didn't westwood die because it was only able to make C&C game?

I think Westwood got its creative juices sucked out and were left simply going through the motions of C&C, C&C, C&C... Tough break but I think that a whole lot of their devs got moved around to other dev houses by EA.

Here is the reason to hate EA.

Wikipedia said:
In August 1998, Westwood was acquired by Electronic Arts for $122.5 million in cash. At the time, Westwood had 5% to 6% of the PC game market. In response to EA's buyout, many long-time Westwood employees quit and left Westwood Studios. Because of this and EA's newly imposed demands, games being developed by Westwood Studios at the time were rushed and left unfinished upon their release, namely Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun. All the subsequent games developed by Westwood were also heavily subjected to increased control by Electronic Arts, with some of them being cancelled.

Such is the nature of corporate vampirism. The death of creativity in favour of output and profits. And EA isn't the only culprit.

Is Bioware any smaller for only making RPGs? How about Bungee Studios with Halo? Infinity Ward and CoD? Bugger it mate, not everyone can be Blizzard and have 3 top top top IPs sitting around waiting to be polished.
