Yup thats how it is with most companies. My company have tried to screw me out of overtime as well - this "give your time back" thing is bullshit. Doesn't cost them shit.
 
Im all for making the company money but why should I do jack shit if there is no incentive? Why should I go out of my way to give my best work if I wont get anything back for it.

Its not a very good attitude to have but I am a firm believer in being rewarder for my actions.

Agree - but sometimes they pull the performance punishment vibe around here. All the lazy asses don't get asked to do anything.
So If I'm performing, I also expect to be rewarded. Nothing wrong with that. "Time back" doesn't pay bills.

Same here. Those who work themselfs to the bone don't get so much as a thank you, while being asked to do more, the slackers get away with everything. Thus I no longer over perform.

Performance punishment = non-performance rewarding. It happens everywhere.
