No, yes and depends on if she is hot or not.
There are so many variations on fanboys, it is scary. I'm pretty sure we all have our one topic we are really passionate about and would staunchly defend it. The difference is personally I willing and able to listen to a well presented argument that points out the flaws on my subject. And this is what separates fanboys from mature and reasonable people in my opinion.
And let's face it, most of these X-Box die-hards, or PS3 passionatas, or PC playboys only own one platform, because as the lady pointed out, his mom can only afford one and fewer still have genuinely given another platform a try.
I was always a PC only gamer, until I acquired my PS3 in May this year. I initially was only really going to use it as a blu-ray player until I bought Red Dead Redemption. And now I have realised how much fun the PS3 is. If I could afford it, I would get a X-Box as well for titles like Alan Wake and yes Omega, Halo also. So I think that if these chops would simply give another platform a chance, firstly they would see they all have their place and secondly see how similar they all are and lastly, the PC is still king!
And that is only the console fanboys. What about the COD vs BF idiots? Or the Android vs iPhone chops. Or the MacDonalds vs Steers? (ok, Steers wins every time) Or the Linux vs Windows? Or the House vs Greys? Like I said, everyone in life has his or her chosen subject that they feel very strongly about and rightly so. Each to his own, but also be aware that someone else, incredible as it may seem to you, might not like Halo...
