New Black Ops Patch

The patch notes says they fixed threading performance on dual core CPU's so hopefully this fixes the performance issue for some of the folks here.
 
I am back where I started....

It was soooo smooth this morning and now its running 30/40fps again...Nothing is changed! I dont know maybe its something on my pc....
 
Nope I disagree ....the patch worked wonders and everything seems so much better ,joining a game the hit detection
the movement all way better still getting some disconnects but those are server issues apart from that all good .
 
I have not noticed any difference but my game has always run smooth I will run fraps on it tonight. The only thing that i have noticed is that it is using internet bandwidth. That is awesome because i am playing on 3G.
 
Honestly....

i wouldnt have even noticed anything unless someone told me there was a patch! I dont pick up any differences at all, the game still randomly freezes then unfreezes, the frame rate still drops when looking over a large area of the map( but thats not really a problem) whats annoying is the random freezes and unfreeze, lasts for a few seconds but costs me dearly :( and its not when viewing a new part of the map for the first time, i had a 9600gt and now 250 gts and although i can now run @ a higher res and have shadows etc, the freezing really gripes my ass. Is anyone else experiencing this temp freeze? #annoyed
 
There is definitely a difference in the knife mechanics, and the scoping is a bit more accurate as well. Also in your Graphics options you will see Shader Warm up, you can turn this on if you suffere from severe FPS drops etc.
 
Yes I had one or two moments when the game froze for about 2 seconds at a time, but it wasn't as if it was totally game breaking.

Knife mechanics have changed a bit, but the knife is still FAR too overpowered. Needs to have 1/2 or 3/4 the lunge distance it currently has...
 
Yup I agree, I hate that stupid lunge. Especially when an oke comes around the corner and you start pumping him full of bullets and he just slides like 5 meters forward and knifes you in a split second.

But we all know a guy with a knife can withstand 3 AK47 bullets and still kill you!

:wtf: I actually thought that was hacking at first until I tried knifing :o
