@ Ly: Immigrating to the UK in July

:eek:

Immigrating? As in forever?

Has this been a long time coming? Do you have work waiting for you? What made you want to leave?

Are you and your wife both going together or one-at-a-time? And... do you guys have family over there?

Can I come visit? :D

Omega - who cares about posh :D If as you say you know the area and you loved it before I would go for it. I love the look of the second house and if your lovely wife loves cooking then that is the kitchen you want :P And as I said, the only drawback I could see is the on street parking (where I stayed in Golders Green it used to be a huge issue and we had a load of car vandalism.)

As in forever. The Wife is European so that makes visas and the like alot easier. We dont have jobs, we each have a few possible job oppertunities lined up and a place to stay rent free until we can afford to get our own place. Been planning it since before we got married.

Bleh, is this day still going? :wtf:

Unfortunately.

Who is stupid enough to have a car in London :wtf:

Hehehehe some ppl you just had to have one :P Not me tho, we had the tube 2 blocks away and the bus and night bus stopped on our street corner. What else did you need? I think our one housemate had a car but he used to take the tube to work and back and use the car to go away to a weekend place for fishing.

Snazzy :D I hope it works out for you both.

If things work out on my side, I should find myself nestled in Denmark in a few years. Culture shock, here I come :D

Eventually a car would be nice if we wanted to drive up to the lake district or scotland or even france. But in the beginning... NAH.

@Ly: Cool.

And besides a trip to the lakes will take you about 5hours from kings cross if im not mistaken, cant remember exactly how long I traveled between london and the lakes. But when I traveled it was during a time of upgrading and I had to bus it from Preston to Windermere and then another bus/cab to the house I stayed in. I loved the trip tho. I always got cheap tickets and I had the luck of empty trains, (late night trips ftw) got a few free upgrades to first class and once I had to pay 10 pounds for the upgrade - was worth it -the seats are a hell of a lot more comfy :P
