C&C to Return

MP drives all games Dre, not just pc.

although alot of games are awesome without mp.

Piracy is allot higher on PC than any other platform, we are speaking about a PC title title therefore I'm pointing that out as i do.

Dre, I agree that solid MP will make the game worth getting. I have to say, the RTS games I have gotten the most out of in my life were the ones I could play MP. Especially lately, SCII and CoH. I bought CoH like 4 or 5 years ago and I'm still playing it today because of the awesome fun to be had online.

SC2 is all about MP. It has so much depth in the game play. Way better than any CNC title ever, and this is coming from a CNC fanatic at a time. I realized that it's a fail after Westwood went out the door. Generals and TW was the last CNC title I enjoyed. I was like 14 or something when the first CNC came out. Since then I was a RTS fanatic in general. Those were the good old days... Well CNC died and that's a fact, there is such a big SC2 local community now as well. CNC never reached that.

Something else I really want to say is that I don't feel that the last C&C game did the series ANY JUSTICE AT ALL. It was a piece of crap. A total failure, which should not be mentioned, ever, and swept under the carpet. The series deserves much more than that excuse for a C&C game. As far as I am concerned, it was not a C&C game.

As I said, I am a huge C&C fan, so I definitely will be looking forward to the next game. I'm willing to leave my judgments and opinions for later, after the game has come out. I have confidence that they will make something new and worthy of the series. So if you want to bury the series along with the last game, that is your own issue.

What you on about? I have no issues with it, I'm stating my opinions of CNC and statistics as of now compared to SC2. I would be happy to see CNC be the next best RTS title, but it's unlikely if you look at EA's track record of CNC.

Only the first paragraph was for you, bru :D

The rest is just my general food for though towards all the nay-sayers. :p

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was only EA L.A that was working on CNC from the Generals titles onwards? If so they have three studios working on the the new title, so that's all ready very positive start at least I hope :p

According to the article it's one studio, Victory Games, spread across 3 locations- LA, Texas and Shanghai.

Made a mistake, actually meant more people on the project in that sense, or not necessarily...?

As EA had only EA L.A working on CNC...

I don't exactly know why they would have 3 "branches" in different places. Maybe because of the studio that bought the other 2 and now they're all working under one management or something.. Dunno, but it would probably be more than just a small studio, which is good. To be honest, I don't really care who they are or how many they are, they must just make a good game. :D

Some time ago I read a interview about one of the DEV's that was part of the CNC projects after the team was let go or fired or whatever EA did with them. I think that was at gamereplays.org

He spoke about if they only had more time on development as EA forced them to bring out new CNC title as quick as possible, and that they could've made way better CNC titles. He then referred to SC2 which has had this huge development time...

If that was the case, I hope EA have learned they're lesson in that sense which I doubt.

There's only one way to find out and that is wait and see... :D

Dam would not mind another game of c&c the mp does lack a bit but I do love the single player. Like dre said take 4-7 years then release it.

Update: They don't know what the game will be like help them.

Welcome back, commander. We know EA’s deathless strategy titan C&C is due for yet another reboot, but we don’t really know anything about what form it will take. Turns out EA – or at least their new strategy studio Victory Games – haven’t entirely worked it out yet either. Hence, they’ve put out an open call for suggestions and requests from players. It’s been a bit of confused old dear of late, but hopefully with fans’ help this once and future RTS king can be restored to its former glories.

Said an unnamed and grammatically-wobbly C&C bloke on Twitter, “Tell us your idea on how to improve future cnc games. Maybe it will be your idea, which changes everything!” Maybe it will be. To offer your ideas, you should head to the community forum here.

Already suggested? ‘Return to the basics.’ ‘Ignore the story in CNC4.’ ‘Really big maps.’ ‘RTS+FPS.’ ‘Crossover of all 4 C&C universes.’ ‘Don’t just push effort on Graphic! We need a good gameplay too!’ And generally a whole lot of moaning about how C&Cs 3 and 4 weren’t like the earlier ones. So it goes.

If you’re going to add a suggestion of your own, do be sure not to repeat one that’s already been stated. And try not to make it one related to some snippet of obscure or abandoned C&C lore, because that’s only fun for you.

They just need to make a stand alone cut scenes edition and I'll be happy.

Maybe it will be like the reboot of mk 9. Or it could end up being crap.

I will keep my eye out for this. But if it ends up being like cnc 4 they can f off.

Can't believe I missed this thread.

Thank god it's being redone. After the failure that was the last title I thought I'd be left with a bad taste in my mouth for C&C games for the rest of my life. C&C has ALWAYS been about the cookiecutter RTS gameplay. Changing it was bound to result in failure.

C&C3 remains one of the best RTS games I've ever played.

I've been playing Tiberian Sun again, can't remember how it ends and little had changed from Tiberian Sun to Kanes Wrath, then that vile piece of retched turd of 4 arrived don't know what they were thinking.

I just hope it is more advanced tech like in tib sun. They seem to have went backwards with tib wars with the unit tech.
