@Duke: Get it man, you should be able to get a copy at any BT Games as of today, or try Take2. If you get then there will be three of us to play co-op.![]()
The game is buggy, sure, but that's why they have patches. Now the storyline thus far is okay, not the best ever, but still I only stopped playing it over the weekend when I had to eat and sleep.
I myself am also a Elder Scrolls junkie and RPG games are my favourite genre. I don't listen to reviews that much, because it is one persons' opinion or a few, but I prefer to play the game myself then decide.
You can always borrow a copy from a friend if they have one, install it and if you like it buy the full game, since it will ask you at the end of the first chapter to re-enter your registration key etc. If you find the game intriguing enough to buy then do so at that time.
I like it. That's about the only endorsement I can give you.
It's is not as refined as Oblivion or Dragon Age, but it has it's strong points. The ability to upgrade your items, weapons, etc. to a very high level. The ability to make custom spells with the spell cards and spell amulets and modifiers really is nice.
But you need to be a focused spell caster to use the spells to their full potential and there are quite a few different specializations in magic.
Alchemy is also well thought out and the system allows for a lot of experimentation.
The main quest line is about 20 - 30 hours - that's what I've read and the rest of the stuff should give about 100 hours of content to play through. The map is insanely huge!
The game would've been great if they polished it a lot more and sorted the bugs, but it is fine the way it is. Get it, play co-op with other people online and play other games with your local buddies.
It goes for R499.95 for PS3 dude. I know for a fact that BT Games Bloemfontein has stock and I'm pretty sure the other branches have it as well. If you do decide to get it, add my friend on PSN if you don't already have him: HiTech_Hate_13. We're planning on jamming the co-op from about tomorrow night (waiting for cap) and he also has Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm, etc.
I'd say the game is definitely worth it. I too am a RPG junkie and I loved the first Two Worlds, the sequel is no different.
The combat is fun, it has some nice finisher moves - if they land and animate correctly - but I heard this is addressed in a patch for the PC version, not sure how it plays on consoles. There aren't a lot of skills but they are easily accessible and cool-down times are quite fast so you can easily spam attacks or vary your attacks and then your other skills should be recharged.
