Its not only Tarryn... people in the comments section have am unwarranted kak attitude towards other writers on this site as well.
 
I rather enjoy her writing. And I basically think anyone who doesn't is lacking in the brains department. :p
 
i'm not a great fan of sensationalistic/baiting writing, but it's better
i suppose than dry and boring articles ;)
 
Way back when she first started writing articles here, she and some other user got in an argument and I took the other user's side and had a go at her with my uber brain logics. Then later I apologised and now she's a friend of mine here at MyGaming and on XBox Live. She's cool and it's really stupid that people attack her so in the comment sections of articles.

Keep up the good work Tarryn!

I've already provided a good reason. Paragraphs separate points (quite literally), while conjunctions link them. It makes zero sense to use the two simultaneously from either a logical or grammatical perspective (unless the aim is to confuse the reader *cough* lawyers *cough*).

The previous paragraph's last clause & sentence (hopefully) had a full stop at the end thus terminating it. If you intend to link clauses (aka parts of sentences) across sentences then we might as well abandon fullstops (and paragraphs) since they've then lost their meaning.

Surely sentence structure depends on grammar rules, not that it "follows meaningfully"? Half the SMS talk out there "follows meaningfully" but that doesn't make it grammatically correct.

The whole "And" thing was a random example though. Something with room for improvement if you like. I don't really have an issue with Tarryn since the content is mostly good.

Guilty as charged. In my defense, I'm not a writer by profession though and my schooling was mostly in German.

OT: I wonder who would be the last man standing if we instaban on grammar errors.

How does that help? 99% of IPs are dynamically allocated in SA, so unless its something you can take to court a hater's IP is useless.

One could argue, of course, that introducing a new paragraph with "But" or "And" simply introduces an opposing, contrasting, or additional point. ;P

Yes, but as I've already explained, grammatical rules do not necessarily preclude this usage. It's, at best, a highly contentious "rule"; most grammar nazis - myself included - would agree that starting a new sentence with a conjunction is acceptable.

As for following meaningfully, consider the following sentence, perhaps:

I went to the shops earlier, but he said it anyway.

The sentence is grammatically correct, but it makes no sense.

In all honesty this is a pretty terrible topic for discussion. Tarryn's just kinda like that uncle that was really nice and bought you presents and then molested you.

You know, I'm very open to honest and/or constructive criticism. But that comment was fucking repulsive.

Do you realise we live in a country where one in three women is subject to sexual violence at some point in their lives? Deductions are, of course, yours to make. Also, fuck you.
