Hi there.

My steelseries headset died on me waiting for RMA and man it's taking forever so I decided not to wait for new ones and just get myself new headset instead. Waht is the best gaming headset out there today. Just a note it must also be good for music. I can spend about R1K max.

So for me what a waste of money sending it back to steelseries never going to buy another steelseries product ever.

Whatever you do, do not buy a Logitech G35. Mine lasted 3 months before it the plastic that hold the earphones broke on the left side. They even admitted that it was weak in that spot, but they refused to replace it. Bastards.

ok anything lse then. Doesn't have to be 5.1. The steelseries siberia was good just the RMA is a long Process so I'm looking for new ones while I wait for my steelseries to arrive next year..lol. I'm using my crappy Zalman and my ears can't take them. My head is starting to heard after 2min of putting them on.

Strange... mine's going strong now January 2010, and i use them extensively every weekend at lans.

I have had my G35's for well over a year now and they are amazing. . .

To0ks you sure you weren't just flinging them across the room? :p

Personally I would highly recommend the G35's, they are solid, great sounding headphones.

Lol, I'm definitely sure. I treated that thing like gold :D I'm kinda sad about it though because the sound coming out of those bad boys was like heaven. Maybe I was just unlucky to get one that failed like that, but the thing that pissed me off very much is that they didn't want to replace it.

Yeah that is bs, even after admitting it.

Did you email Logitech and make a fuss? That might, might get you somewhere.

The thing is, I don't know who to mail or phone to make a fuss. I tried looking for a Logitech SA website or something but I couldn't find any contact details that looked worthwhile contacting (service desk). So I'm kinda stumped..

Roccat Kave or G35. That is all.

What he said.

I have the G35's as well for over a year now and still as awesome as they day I got them. The Roccats are also very good and slightly cheaper. R899 @ www.computersonly.co.za

The G35's are abt R1100. What I love about them is the USB. Simply plug them in in front and voila. No having to sukkel whenever you want to rather use your speakers and now you have to mission behind the PC to unplug and replug speakers every time. The cable is also very long, so nice reach there. The sound quality is brilliant. Really a very good set all round.

The Roccats as I've said are also highly rated. I haven't used them myself, but at least 8 of my mates have them and love them.

So either way you cant go wrong.

The Corsairs HS1 have got good reviews, good value and are 7.1 as well. Anyone have experience of them?

Well they just send me a mail confirming that the replacement products has been shipped. I send them the Steelseries siberia headset and are getting the Steelseries siberia v2 usb black and ikari mouse in return. headset is also 7.1 and will post feedback once I got it.

According to fedex I'm getting it on Monday

Check the reviews on the Steelseries siberia v2 headset also looks nice and not that expensive and if you get the usb version you will also have 7.1 audio

I had the first one without the usb and man they were great and I heard v2 is even better with the closed ear design. I could wear the siberia v1 for a whole day without my ears gettign sore all the time and the sound is perfect. Like I said will post feedback once I got my siberia v2

depends on what you looking for. for example the steelseries is king on being comfortable, i've gotten a set a while a go and is a lot lighter on the head than the roccat. the roccat imho is the best 5.1 with mic.
