The point is, there will always be hackers, code hooks and ways to circumvent the confines of a gaming engine.
The collective is ALWAYS smarter than the individual, no single developer or organization could EVER hope to eradicate every possible avenue of exploitation.
It is not possible, there are too many variables
The choice though is your own, play online, try to curb as many issues as possible by working with a portal like ours, or, stop playing online and move yor focus to something like an Xbox and play with people you know and trust

My hat's off to Xerowing and the other admins on iGame, Wage and the Mweb servers for giving us as hacker free a experience as they can manage.
It's thankless job for the most part but without them we'll be up to our arm pits in cheating parasites.

I know they put out a PS3 patch last night, and apparently it's working. On Xbox, people very rarely get away with cheating because XBL detects modifications, and Microsoft just bans players.
Alternately, of course, on console it's just that much easier to set up private games with people you know.

I hear you, but when it comes to FPS, I'm a PC fanboy. I know someone said about the control issues and he is right. I simply do not like the console controllers for FPS. And also, my PS3 is hooked up to my only TV and somehow I think the missus might be upset if she has to watch me playing all night on our only TV. Bad enough she is a husbandless after 21:30, now I hijack the TV as well? And no, I prefer it on the TV as it's also doubles as my Blu-Ray player and no, I'm not moving it up and down between study and TV room.
As for other games online, well I only play FPS online. Other games, especially 3rd person games I LOVE on my PS3. They simply just work brilliantly on a controller.
As for iGame efforts, believe me, they are HUGELY appreciated. It really is a pleasure to play on an iGame server and see players getting kicked for language violations etc, never mind hackers. The admins are active and don't take crap. As for taking screenies and so on, I know it's needed, it's just when I go sit down to play, well I want to play. Not sit and take fraps and screenies etc. That is where Blops is pretty cool to be honest. The recording of each game is really a brilliant idea. Now to get folks to use it.

Dedicated servers and a team of admins helps tremendously. Players get forcefully removed from servers if they don't abide by the rules (Swearing, Constant TK'ing, Hacking, Glitching etc) Igame admins are just a quick xfire away and the problem is sorted, big shout out to Xero and team. I've always liked playing on IGame Promod Open servers because of this. With blops, even though we have dedicated servers, we cannot control or monitor them in the way that we can in COD4 or COD5 for example, so we are stuck with whatever form of scum decides to come play with us.

In BC2? Strangely enough me. This guy was sniping from the roof of one of the buildings in Arica Harbour and he kept spawing in the same place on a guy that I couldn't see.

Just about any player that bests whining little kiddies is called a hacker thesedays, the term is thrown around so easily. I used to take a screenshot and make it my wallpaper for each time a player called me a hacker in MW2, Blackops etc. Like Tsar also mentioned, Sometimes I'll take a hail of bullets and not die, or pull of an epic wallbang and get some nice kills, and be called a hacker, that sometimes I actually play bad or kill myself on purpose to shut the little whiney pricks up.

So Densweep yeah it sucks taking screenies and vids of ppl hacking, but you see where the problem is these day's anybody just calls out hacking. When asking where is the proof screenshots or something like that they just go quite.
Czc ag all fps games. I have had a few ppl complaining that I was hacking in cod4 and BC2 now so I asked the person for proof and he went on a name calling and slandering spree so banned him for 4 hours.
Tsar lool 15/0 is nothing sometimes I see rambo going all out and he gets like 30/0. The other day I tried out the new 1000 ticket hardcore server and well I still need my sniper badges so decided to sniper I had 35/0

I've been called a few times and honestly couldn't give a shit. If you knew me personally, you would know I'm way too unbothered to go figure out how to hack and WAY too cheap to pay for them. I mean really, who has the time to find this shit, figure them out and be a dick? Also, most decent hacks that won't get you caught in about 8 seconds need to be paid for. So yeah, I'm going to firstly spend money on it. Secondly, give my credit card details to people who are dishonest by nature? Hahahaha, don't think so. And also, I've paid R500 for my game and now I get caught and banned, so there goes R500.
Also, out of interest, what happens to any Steam games you bought digitally if you get banned? Do you lose your steam account? Surely not. Maybe just the ability to play MP online?

If you get banned by vac you only get banned for that game you don't loose your account but your going to have to buy another copy of the game to play it again. Ag but there are lots of threads on the steam forum if you want to go read about it.

As for being called, I simply respond by saying, please report me. Go for it. I have nothing to hide. At the end, if you continually report non hacking players, you will get a warning and hopefully shut up.
As for the screenies thing, I think more games should include the auto record. Often you simply don't have time to record or take a screen shot.

I can see the direction of this thread now. KB+M > Controller
But KB+M does beat the controller.....
I just like playing my FPS games on the PC. I've played SP FPS on consoles but it's already irritating when I can't get that kill one kill cause I can't fine tune tune my cross hair onto the enemies head. In an online game it'll bother me even more. Obviously it would get better with practice, but I can't be bothered.
Haven't seen any hacking in BLOPS so far, but I did see my fair share of it in MW2. Also haven't been called a hacker yet. Could be cause I don't have brilliant games all the time like some people......... *cough* Maplassie *cough*
But hey if you guys see a |BFC|Scart (BLOPS nick) killing you you don't have to worry that he's cheating.....

Yeah I know too well. Had a guy on wage that was busy hacking but nobody got screenies or vids of it. But he was caught on the igame servers someone who happened to know he was on wage and what not and yeah got him banned.
Just the other day I was a bit late with the vids luckly he stayed a while so I could find him again and record his hacking.
Yeah if they report non hacking ppl the whole time that person would just be ignored later on.

Tanking, Wall hacks, aimbots, binding. You name it, I've been called it.
Tanking: Stop aiming for my feet!
Wall hacks: I've got surround sounds, and set my volume up high and disabled the music, I listen for footsteps and any other noises, along with that, I contantly blind fire through thin walls and I get quite lucky every once in a while. I'm a good gueser.
Aimbots: Good aim?
Binding: I admit I tried it a while back, but I soon found I can click faster than any binding and it's generally a waist of ammo.
