Console gaming is dying says Angry Birds developer

loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool is there an underground war going on between console dev's and PC dev's?? Firstly it's gonna take a long time before console gaming fades out and hopefully by that stage it hasn't, but upgraded itself to a point where we "become the games". and I mean that from a Terminator aspect. Like remember the part where John Conner is in the arcade, playing with the VR machine. We want games where they become holographic for us and allow us to walk around in a certain area and play like that :). I can tell you now that we aren't too far from that kind of vision, and it's not far before PC's add the same feature to their gaming side as well...

Next week handheld gaming will be dying. Then PC again, then consoles and finally boardgames. Again.

COMING SOON:

You've heard of PC Fanbois!
Then came Console Fanbois!

NOW LOOK OUT FOR THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK!
THE MOBILE FANBOI!

"Tablets are killing consoles," he said. "Four generations of new tablets come before a new console, if one ever comes."

What a daft comment. If console manufacturers brought out consoles every year they'd lose millions, and if tablet manufacturers did the opposite they'd also end up bankrupt.

Apples and naartjies, buddy.

I'm not saying consoles will die or even come close, but this seems all too familiar. Remember the whole scene when consoles started making inroads into PC gamer numbers? Same thing will happen here. Mobile gaming is simply easier for the masses and will eventually become a bigger income source. It's all about ease of use and mobile platforms are making it pretty damn easy for Joe Public to become a gamer.

That and he is simply punting the mobile platform because it has rescued Rovio from certain doom. He is simply trying to make even more money.

Tunnel vision much? So the market for this specific developer's games are (maybe) moving towards tablets. That says approximately zilch about consoles.

I wouldn't mind consoles fading away...but its just not gonna happen.

In other news: Scientists have recently discovered that the easiest way to get publicity is to make an outrageous statement.
