Crysis 2 PC multiplayer review (MyGaming)

If only they'd fix it so that I could actually log in. It's starting to piss me off. Not even BLOPS was this bad with me....

Toxin, I have to agree with you. I buy games for multiplayer and the only FPS SP campaign that I've finished was Homefront (disappointing as it may have been) and I've never had this much hassle with any game before. Weirdest thing is that the demo worked fine for me???

Ah well at least Homefront MP is awesome :)

I saw you on homefront last night but you didn't say haai :(

Crytek delivers a solid, unique multiplayer game.

Maybe I am just one of those "the old version was better" farts, but is there really anything 'unique' about it? They've basically created a nano suited version of COD.

I preferred the Crysis Wars multiplayer where you had 32 player madness with vehicles, aircraft and PowerStruggle, which according to me is the best game mode developed in the last decade.

Cheaters have already ruined the image of Crysis2. Even if Crytek somehow magically fixes the game to be cheat free, people will still point fingers at anyone playing a little too well for their taste.

The lobby system is utter shyte. I prefer being able to jump in game immediately. And then we have not even touched on the bugs it has.

The server browser has a couple of issues. Incorrect /non-updating data, filters not being saved and the search pattern is way to slow for the nearly 1500 servers out there.

I hate rank and reward systems with perks etc. So noobtastic. The previous installment of Crysis had a rank per map system. Everybody joined on equal footing for every round. No annoying counters etc after every round.

Anyway, despite all of the above, I still play and enjoy. I just dont see it keeping gripped for 2 years like Wars did.

To be honest, after playing a while now, I don't see being gripped for much longer either. When BF3 comes out, I'm pretty much dropping everything else anyway :p

Yeah sorry about that, you were too busy pwning me :(

Plus the text chat is so small that I doubt anyone reads it. Tried to get the WAGE Mixed # server going but no one was keen. It's got all the maps and all the modes mixed up, really cool.

Apart from the stunning visuals, I found the formula not unique enough in C1. C2 setting looks more promising.

As far as open shooters go... Operation Flashpoint: Red River also looks stunning. The coop on Dragon Rising was fantastic.

I never had hassles when it launched, not with installation, not with activation, not with logging in, not with joining games. I HATE the lobby system:mad: it just doesnt seem to work well. I HATE that I have to be logged in for mp character, and there is little point, due to the fact that if one disconnects from a game for no reason(seems to happen every 2nd or 3rd round) then your new experience isnt even saved. I have installed the 1.4 patch, but not really played again.
