Brake discs. Genuine VW parts. How long do they generally last?

Well it depends on how hard u drive ur car... but if you look after ur car pretty well and not drive the sh!t outta it then ur breaks should last you on average 25000-30000km why are ur's starting to fall apart???

Was awesome man, picked up a Logitech G9 for R450.

So... if VW installed new ones on my car last April, and they now need to replace them, again (and I've only driven 15 000km in that time, and the furthest I travel, generally, is from Sandton to Fourways), I am well within my rights to demand that they replace them and do the labour free?

Not if you don't have a motor plan. W&T parts will need to be paid for by you.

No not really. The bring lots of technicalities in like Stop-Go driving. Robot to robot etc. Also the time is way to long, doesnt matter about the KM in that case!

My Friend bought a brand new Peugeot 206 Gti 180 a while back. Within 6000KM his gearbox and flywheel packed up. He was unimpressed and awaited the Free repairs as the car is only 6000KM old. They Said its because he drives short distances, in stop and go traffic so he has to gear often, they wouldnt replace the gearbox, it's his fault.

My brakes usually last me around 2000KM LOOOOOOOOOL!
He tried suing them but got nowhere as he was running out of funds for attorney fees etc

Well you also have to look at ur Maintenance Plan coz some plans work so that they pay X% towards the brakes and u pay the rest... but sandton to fourways is like 8km so just in case check ur plan and also check with the VW workshop... thing is no matter which mechanical workshop u go to they will charge you for Labour but depending on ur plan they might only charge you for the brakes at lets say 15% and cover everything else... my step dad is a mechanic so thats how i kno how these guys can be extreme at times depending on what it is that ur fixing...

Dixie is softy!:p

LIES!!!!! she'll man handle you roflmao :p

Well thing is you add on the KM's because ur including the robot to robot etc... if it were the highway then it would be less... but I helped my step dad to fix 2 of his VW's one was a combi and the other was the Citi Golf and the combi had done 25500 and the brakes werent in desperate need of changing yet but you could see and hear that they needed to be changed... whereas the golf the lady who previously drove it was a crazy driver you could see the dents and scratches lol... but we changed he brakes but dude you should have seen not only was it the brakes in desperate need of change but the gearbox was just about FSCKed i felt bad for the car :p as i was gonna buy it...
