MWEB uses WTFast to improve MMO latency

So what's the plan after the free subscriptions are finished? Are they going to keep it free for MWEB subscribers, or are they going to add on a fee, because if the latter is the case, then they're not really addressing this problem:

Of course, there are ways to improve your latency when connecting to international servers, but many of them may require technical savvy that some gamers don't possess, or may cost money to implement or use.

I would think they will decide after 6 months what the best course of action is. This is an excellent question though, so I'll get it answered for you.
 
I don't personally fancy this much, as it's not really fixing the cause of the problem. I have lately noticed how much complaining there is in the Uncapped Subscriber Feedback thread on Mybb, and it's rather... Discouraging. All I know is that Rift in unplayable for me on 384kb uncapped on Mweb, and I doubt WTFast will do much seeing as my ping goes up to 150,000 there. Reading in that topic now that the unshaped accounts are apparently being shaped some how as well.

Worth a shot certainly.

To be perfectly honest, I've been happy with WebAfrica so far - my latency with them on Aion sits between 250 - 300 for the most part - on Rift I saw pings of about 190 - 280. Given that I was relying on Vodacom's 3G to play at one stage (with a low ping being 600ms) I find my current connection very playable :)
 
lol i just tried this and it increased my ping
My wow ping is usually between 200-300
for some reason my ping is better without these lowerping apps...

Would anyone who happens to try this WTFast service mind doing us all a favior and posting Latency before and after using the service ?
Also please tell me if youre on a 384kbps/512meg/4gig connection.

Good News

Wtfast does indeed work Aion.

What you have to do is submit a query to them, they will then upgrade your Basic account to a Advanced account (for free :P) and all u have to do is either select port 80, 22 or 3724 and aion works flawlessly.

Just a heads up for the guys having problems.

Yeah WebAfrica probably has the lowest lantency out of all the ISPs. In RIFT my ping always sits around 230ms and thats on a shaped account.
