Gears of War 3 vs. Uncharted 3

No contest, Uncharted 3 will take the cake anyday!! And that isn't just a fanboy's response, UC games in general have always been better. So I don't see that changing anytime soon...

I refuse to get sucked into this war...

Uncharted will no doubt be far superior as a game and a story and everything. You can't let a pit bull fight a chihuahua, it's just not fair. :D

Uncharted for the story, fun, graphics, etc.

Gears for the splitscreen campaign awesomeness and gore!

Lets just be happy and enjoy them both :p
 
I've never played GoW mulitplayer, but I have finished both the games' SP campaigns. I would like to check out GoW 3's MP, but I'm not buying an X360 so that's not happening . Uncharted 2 is still the best MP game I have played to date and I really can't wait to see the improvements Naughty Dog made to both the MP and SP aspects of the game. Here's to hoping PSN is back online when it launches. :p
 
If they were to release on the same day and I only had cash for one, then UC3 for me. It will be awesome and I'll definately be getting a collectors edition if it's worth it.

But I'd get Gear3 as well since I want to see how the story it ends.
 
Sorry for my ignorance, never played uncharted, but are they even the same type of game? Isn't this the same as saying.... COD is way better than the SIMs?

Well, they're both pretty much cover-based third person shooters, although Uncharted has a lot of platforming and puzzles as well.
 
Think about it, UC2 got you emotionally invested into the story. You constantly worry for the character's wellbeing (Specially so in chapter 25!!) and the campaign is perfectly paced (Best I've ever played). Uncharted is a globe trotting adventure taking you from Istanbul to Borneo to Nepal, it has an awesome MP and don't get me started on the musical score for that game!

Gears of War 2, took place in primarily the same place/city (Nothing wrong with that!), the story never emotionally invested you so if one of you teammates dies then you don't really feel anything. I will say that the gore and the kills with the chainsaw gun is just freaking awesome :D!! When it comes to MP, both games are excellent! Both are cover-based 3rd person shooters, so in the end of the day it's up to you which one you prefer.

Well i felt a little emotional when your buddies wife dies in gears.

Yeah okay I forgot about that situation, but throughout the story you never get to know what kind of a person she was and so on. Now look at UC2, in Chapter 25 Elena get badly wounded but you don't know how bad. You have to get out of Shambala before she dies and back to Tenzin for medical treatment. And in the last video you don't know if she dies or not till the very end. Now that is a very emotional part of the game because you know that Drake and she were in love, you know that Elena was only trying to do good by tracking Lazarevic before Drake got her mixed into his whole saga, now at the end she dies because she got caught up in his plans not by her own doing. I could go on for hours because the relationship between the two is so complex.
 
It's a tough call because I think they will both be great games, and they are a very different style. GoW is more gory shoot-em-up, and UC is more of an adventure / platformer.

I'm pretty sure I'll have to play them both, but I would have to say I think I'm more excited for Uncharted 3
 
If you own a PS3 Uncharted 1,2 and 3 are must buys

If you own a Xbox Gears of War 1,2 and 3 are must buys

If you own both consoles then buy them all :D
