You have a point there. I think that I just lost interest in loot whoring (or at least a game that goes the carbon copy route of Diablo) games. I really want to like DS3, but there is just this whispering voice on the side of me, telling me it could have been so much more :p

Granted I've based this all on gameplay footage and my opinion can/ will change once I play the game. Here's to hoping the demo showcases at least something awesome =)

Come to think of it, not seeing a release date for Torchlight 2 though. No idea where my July window for the game through :/

(Having said this, the latest Diablo 3 footage has been kinda worrying me ... or its just because of the zoomed in view)

Yeah about 30 -40 Hours. I was hoping for 50 -60 at least. It's the same situation I had with the first Witcher, an expectation of a grand adventure then it turns out to be only half that. This is why Origins still remains my favorite current generation RPG for now.
 
Is this game worth buying? and what type of gameplay can I expect?
And how is the gfx and pc requirements?
I have a Core2Duo 3Ghz with 4Gig Ram and GTX460

Hell yes its worht buying. Just like fallout NV and Fallout 3
You can expect an RPG gamplay.
Yeah your pc will run it low spec

Duke, as per all games, completion time is really subjective especially concerning RPGs.
Chapter 2 is really not that long, again it depends on how much time you spend on quests or in this game, staring at the insanely well built city. Chapter 3 is short .. like really short.

I would say
20 Hours to complete C1.
10 Hours to complete C2.
5 Hours to complete C3.
2 Hours to complete the epilogue.

Chapter 2 can change quite drastically, depending on your choices from W1 & Chapter 1 .... so there is always the second playthrough :p

Take this with a grain of salt though. I mean morrowind was suppose to be a 40hour game, I ended up with 260 hours on it :p

Yeah things really dwindle as you move through the game. This seems to apply to all aspects too, not just length... :(
 
I deleted my Witcher 1 saves, so I couldn't import them for The Witcher 2. How are the decisions you made in the first game carried over to the sequel? I really hope it's only on a minute, "one or two references" type of way, and nothing game-changing. Otherwise I'm royally pissed to have deleted my old saves...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but ... 39 pages ... >_>

Damn. I know its time for that Core i7 upgrade but the world just ain't treating me right. So that idea is scrapped for at least a year. But I'll give the game a try and see if I enjoy it.

Yea i almost prematurely finished Chapter 2 without doing any of the sidequests . Had to reload an older save game. Silly game, at some random stage in a chapter you will advance the plot to a "point of no return" , when this happens you will fail all your side quests . In Chapter 2 it is particularly easy to do like 2 main quests [while having like 10 sidequests] and go into that "point of no return" mode....

I must make sure to do side quests just to prolong this awesome experience I'm having!

You're welcome to use my Witcher 1 save?

Details that I can recall:
Sided with Squirrels from the start
Acquired Raven's armour (elf-made)
Saved Abigail from the mental villagers
Saved Adda from the curse
Protected the mutagens in the laboratory with Triss at the beginning
Kept Berengar alive and protected him during battle with Javed
Helped the humans and vodyanoi become friendly in Lakeside
Saved the woodcutters by having them offer the leader's axe to the Vodyanoi
Killed Gramps the cannibal
Never killed wittle doggies for ebil dog tallow!
Engaged in a committed relationship with Triss, pissing Shani off a little, but she gets over it :p
Defeated the wild hunt (stopped him from killing the Order's guild master whose name I can't recall.)
All quests were done and dusted.

That's about all I can remember, feel free to ask should you remember something I don't :o

Heh yeah, it becomes so damn easy :| (Ready for his insane run)
It feels like the CH3 + Epi was done first. Would make some sense :p
