Nvidia GTX 590 review (MyGaming)

Epic performance, but I simply would not be able to justify spending R7500 on a single graphics card, no matter how good it is. My PC's most expensive component at the moment is an i7 2500. I don't think my graphics card will cost too much more than that.

Soo jealous :( My friend in Ireland got this card yesterday after RMA'ing his current card. He also mentioned it is incredibly quite.

Now, with a lot of PC games becoming console ports, do you think that it is worth it to have such an expensive card when most of it will go to waste. I suppose unless you use multiple screens then no?

I wouldn't buy it.

I'd rather buy 2 x 560 TI's and SLI it.

I've seen reviews with the 2gb flavour, dominating 2 x 580's in SLI running 3 monitors.

I agree with mcryan, not worth the price, but if you have it to waste, definitely.
I would also rather buy 2 560 TI cards....
but, lets keep on dreaming....

It's an awesome card no doubt, but for that amount of money i don't know.. I'm pretty sure something cheaper will be able to perform fine for most users.. Guess it's more catering for the extreme pc builders. But yeah.. want!

Sounds like the 8800GT's of their day.

Would _LOVE_ one of these to replace my 8600GT that I bought in '07, but not at that price tag. :(

570 is a stupid card to buy. Don't touch it.

In terms of performance, a slightly over clocked 560 will be the same as a stock 570. In terms of pricing.. well that's a whole other can of worms.

Say WHAAT!? - I was just about to press the purchase button for my MSI GTX570 OC.

I was waiting for this card i sold my Asus GTX 480 in hopes that this carsd wouldn't be a problem like the GTX 295. Glad I waited and didnt buy the GTX 580.... Now to choose a brand and order...

You can thank me later..

I'd say rather go with a 6950 or 6970 if you gonna spend that amount on a card. Otherwise get a 560 TI and OC it yourself.

Yep, you can get more "bang for your buck" if you look elsewhere. I'd estimate you are looking to spend between R3800 - R4000?
For that you can get yourself a HD 6970 2GB (XFX or ASUS) going at R3850, which is faster than the GT 570.

Where do you see the 6970 being faster for less than a 570? Please don't confuse the man with unsubstantiated claims.

Edit: this is also about the gtx590

+1, the "GTX x60" GPUs of nVIDIA are awesome, especially when talking about over-clocking, but their more expensive counterparts lack the performance/price factor of AMDs high end GPUs.

Customer just ordered a Gigabyte GTX590 from me. The power supply he's getting for it is worth more than my GPU... :(
