Raptr

Saw a reference to it in Jame's article about Portal 2.

Looks like an alternative to X-Fire.

Anyone used it?

Yup. I prefer its website features to XFire's but unfortunately it doesn't keep screenshots or in-game videos so I just use both. I leave Raptr to track in the background unless XFire's overlay has some issue with the game (Raptr's overlay is pretty compatible with everything).

Raptr's also "Fused" with GameSpot, so two birds, one stone.

I like it, quite a bit :)

Oh, and Raptr also tracks cross-platform, including achievements.

I use it. Only for tracking game time, I use Steam for screenshots and chat. I like Raptr better than xfire.

Yup :)

Can import playtime from XFire and even still use XFire's IM.

Well then I must definitely give it a try. I remember when you showed me Raptr and that other one that you were using and then a couple of days later I completely forgot. Will try it out tonight if my internet is working.

Oh yeah, PlayFire. Used to use its feature that allowed you to add your game collection and show it off virtually on virtual shelves. They completely revamped it and you can no longer do it. It's basically an el cheapo "Raptr" but without the instant messaging (i.e. just a website that tracks cross-platform achievements).

I'm so totally over it :)

Raptr is a fantastic little tool though and if only they'd implement screenshots and video capture I'd switch over completely. But no big deal :)

Awww unfortunately:

How can I import my Xfire hours?
Unfortunately, due to recent changes on Xfire's site, we can no longer import your Xfire hours. This only affects our ability to import your hours; we still support the Xfire IM service.

That means that all that game time will be lost if I switch over to Raptr which sucks. :(

LOL!

Leave it to good ol' XFire to try hold onto their market share the only way they know how.

You should've started using it when I first suggested it, eh, Solitude? :D :D :D

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed now. I wish xfire would also show the 360 games and all that. Raptr does a lot that xfire doesn't do. :(

Just use it in the meantime with or without XFire and let the hours add up. It will probably be possible to import XFire hours again at some point but who knows. At least if you have it running you have it running and the sooner you use it the sooner those hours start stacking :p

After all, you do play games for their entertainment value and not JUST to show off how many hours you've dedicated to them, right? :3

Haha yes I do play games for the entertainment value. But haha since I started using XFire I mostly stopped playing games that aren't supported by it. And if I have internet problems then I don't play games. :) But yes, I should stop that. It's a good idea to start with the Raptr thing.

Yeah, game trackers do sort of screw with the obsessive compulsive nature in people :o

About that... How in the world did you get two images in your signature? I have tried so many times before but the system always says that it's not possible. I'd love to have both my xfire and 360 stats in my signature. Not that it's impressive stats or anything but it works in a gaming forum. :)

Er... I dunno, it just worked? :p

Ask Tinman? Maybe he could help (perhaps some setting on the forum that's profile-dependent?) I runno :o

lol you are lucky. I did ask him once and he said he did reply with a pm but I never got one. I actually started a thread about this somewhere in Off Topic but that's very old now.

See, now Raptr will fix all of this because then I can use one signature. I'm going to ask the Raptr team if I can write them some code to get the stats from xfire.

Schweet, now there's a good idea :D

Good luck, Solitude! :D

Pester Tinman again, he doesn't seem to mind it too much :p

I'll download Raptr when I get home. Actually I could do it now over teamviewer - but that always screws with the windows colouring.

I also make use of Raptr, although I don't use it too often. Just to track my stats and to check up on things every now and then
