Anyone playing Darkspore?

Bloody tough game, best played with two other players. Tried multiple times to get past 6-2, no success yet.

Still getting the 73003 error. Apparently the autopatcher is currently broken, so we'll have to wait until they either fix that, or release a manual patch.

The game looked interesting and I like ARPG's but the reviews made it sound very boring. Would you two say that it's worth getting?

The 73003 error means that you have to log in and quit multiple times before you can get into the game. Once in, the connection is iffy and you often get kicked out of the game. Even with all this bother, I've found myself getting back to the game time and time again. Most games would have me uninstall 'em after a few such troubles, but I can't stop playing Darkspore. It's got a few strange design choices and the scaling of enemies when you go back to play earlier levels is a bit broken, but I'm sure a few more patches will do the game much good.

Currently the patches are about 1.3Gig.

Thanks for the info Juice. I think I'll keep an eye out for when it gets reduced in price and get it on Steam if possible. I suppose that during a Steam special will be the best time to buy it. Since it's supposed to be played with other people and after the Steam specials the game will hopefully be full of players again.

It just seems a bit pricey at the moment.

I enjoy it. I hated Diablo with a passion. The levels are much more shorter (unless you chain it) so it makes life easier. What's nice about it is that you can put any 3 heroes in a squad and they share abilities. Trick comes in when you have to find the right combinations. Also they have different types, - each level has a set number of different mobs with different types. If the mob and your character is the same type, your character gets auto critted all the time. Having the right mixture of characters is essential. You can have up to 3 different squads, and at the end of each level, choose between said squads.

I had that issue has well. I searched the web for a long time. Eventually I found that running the .exe as admin will sometimes sort it out. Worked for me.

What is your nick?! Can maybe jam some games lol.

It really is an enjoyable game. I love it :)

Thanks for the Review Kuga. Busy playing through Portal 2 (AMAZING) and will maybe check this out for a change of pace. Didn't do that well so I'm sure we can pick it up at a bargain price soon! :-D

I'm surprised that all of you are enjoying the game when the reviews all said that the game was boring. Maybe I didn't read enough reviews or maybe the game has improved a lot since launch.

usually u'll get that if ur internet is slow.

the game is cool though, just that there's TONS of bugs with it. loading are long, hero editor seems completely pointless since u change heroes every time u lvl up basically, sometimes ur hero wont get saved if ur internet is slow as well, etc etc etc etc.
i still give the game like an 8/10 the game itself is nice, i think it would be better if it was offline with lan option though

Hey all - sorry to resurrect this post. Are there anyone still playing this game, or who wants to play this game really bad?

I purchased this game via Origin - this was an impulsive buy seeing that there wasn't anything else that I didn't already have. I had a free code to redeem any game from their store and chose this as it looked cool at the time -afterwards I found out it's not really my type of game.

I am willing to give it away with the legit key to activate it. I haven't downloaded it yet. This is no trolling attempt and this game is really up for grabs.

Don't reply just because it's a free game; only if you're really into this but couldn't acquire it before for whatever reason.

I have created a separate Origin profile when I acquired the game. The person I give it to will have to login with that Origin account and download the game. (about 4-5GB) Once the game has been downloaded and installed (and activated using the provided key), you don't need Origin to play the game and can launch it using the game's short cut or .exe.

Please reply to this post if you are interested - I will check it in due course and select a lucky person.

If I am not allowed to give away games here - please delete this post. Laters.

Really? A free game on the forum for two days? This game is worth R360, for free. Guess I'll give it to someone else then.

Didn't want to post a new thread with "free" in the title as it would have drawn too many peeps. Thought the darkspore fans would check this out by default... anyway.
