Battlefield 3 won't have medics, multiplayer details revealed (E3)

No more medics.

They didn't need to include TDM, Rush and Conquest are great.

Lol.
Medics never did really play right for me, tbh.
They almost felt a little TOO mobile.

What they're doing with the Support class looks interesting.
I like the idea of suppressive/cover fire to actually have a real effect. The camera-shaky would be cool if they don't completely overdo it.

I still think it would have been mechanically better to have the support class dish out meds, as opposed to Assault. Will have to see how that pans out, but it sure does make for an interesting twist in the gym-sock...

The sniper "nerf" doesn't suck at all.
It's the one mechanic I've always felt was missing. Mounting down your rifle and breathing control is vital to being an accurate shot at ranges more than 200 meters.
The upside of it LOOKS to be that we get to "dig-in" in prone.
If anything, I wish there was something better they could give Recon than the motion sensors. Seriously useless in most servers as I prefer HC.

Engineers also doing healing confused me a little... I thought Assault is doing that now?!

All looks very interesting, and I will have to wait and see how it pans out in Beta I guess...

PS: I think adding TDM was an awesome move!

- Destroying tanks won't kill everyone onboard, only the person sitting in the part of the vehicle directly hit by the explosive.

Awe that sucks a bit.

Hope they do something about the snipering shotguns as well.

Meh, i always liked medic in the previous games, but i'm sure it'll work out for the best. Otherwise this game is shaping up to be really awesome, the Modern Warfare killer tbh!

Oh I must have missed the tank part on first pass.
Yeah that does kinda suck.

I can deal with sniper-ish shotguns man. I really can. I've seen both my dad and his shooting buddy take a clay out of the air at around 200 meters without much stress about it.
One thing myself and both of them agree on however, is that if you can do that with an Uzi... You truly are God!

Don't get me wrong I know what shotguns are capable of but if you reflect that in games it looks very dodgy when you can't hit someone with a sniper but you can with a shotgun.

Lol yeah the uzi and a few other guns need to be adapted to gaming.

BFBC2 didn't have a very nice assault class... i only use it to level up really. So i hope they do become more useful.

Actually, this sounds a lot like what AA3 was trying to do but with big budget and not quite so rigidly. But that is what made AA so fun i guess :)

I think I mastered most of the classes in original bf2, but against bots(obviously the hardest), a while back. Wonder how I would fare against actual people, seeing as there will be some nice skills out there. Time to do the same when BF3 comes out. I havnt actually made the effort to read up anything on bf3, will singleplayer have a campaign/story line? Similar to cod? Or a bot function, similar to bf2?

LOL. MP is very different. people don't do what is expected of them. AI have programmed tasks to do.

SP and MP are therefore very different.

Spamming "I Need a medic" in front of 5 medics and they all turn a corner and get blown up by a tank you could have taken out because you a engineer.... Yet they did'nt drop 1 stinking crate of meds.... >_<

I guess if you look at it from the perspective of how you play the game, it would also be clearer as to whether the medics play a big role or not. Personally for me Medics might as well have not existed :/ But yeah there was the odd time when I was struck down (being dead and all) and then BOOM! I'm up again, pretty exciting stuff once you feel you get a 'second chance.' I think without medics the game becomes more challenging and fun. Think of CoD, they don't have medic classes (although they recently introduced that revive other players reward to the second chance perk in Black Ops) It's not exactly a class of it's own. I'm pretty keen on seeing how BF3 turns out, here's to the best!

Engineers also doing healing confused me a little... I thought Assault is doing that now?!

Hehe, I think they meant "repairing" instead of healing ... since the line read "healing and destroying tanks" :p

With the 2142 classes, the qualifying question is ... will we be using spacebar to deploy parachutes?

Nope, I think you misread. Assaulti will still do the healing. Engineers will "heal" vehicles.

Hell no, it's awesome! I thikn that's going to be super awesome!

That exactly!!! lol.

I did hint at the irrationality of players. But i have seen SP stuff way weirder.

SP... hehe. BC2 SP campaign. Come over a hill about to enter a jungle with snipers in the trees.
There's a ruins right before the forest starts at the bottom of the hill.
Run down. Kill bad guys between ruins.
Take out snipers.

My "team" is still going bonkers on something. Unloading endless arrays of bullets. I look around carefully and see one more baddie covering behind one of the lower little ruins' walls.
I can easily take him out, his head is visible ALL THE TIME.
I get up and go take a pee. I make some coffee and a sammich. Put on some different music. Enjoy aforementioned coffee and sammich.
Total time: 23 minutes.
Bad guy: Alive and well.
Teamies: Still trying.

Sometimes I really wish they would just remove team-mates in SP if their accuracy is about equal to that of a wet carrot...

Ahhhh. That makes a bit more sense.
