Battlefield 3 being boycotted over Limited Edition exclusive items

If its such a big deal don't pre-order... oh yes but gamers being such a "unified" front people wanting the one up will pre-order. Its always nice when everyone gets behind the boycott yet the boycotted item still sells better than sex in ancient Rome.

If you buy the game after release date, you don't get the remade BF2 maps or the bipod gun etc? But you can buy it as DLC I would imagine. And even if you can't, I still don't see the issue. EA is incentivising prospective buyers by adding in extra content with the pre-orders. The price is the same as normal release price, so again, what is the issue? It is their product, they can add whatever bonuses they like.

Same goes with COD and their Elite system. Yes, I think it's incredibly stupid and blatantly a greed exercise, but it is up to me to if I want to but it or not.

No one is forcing you to buy the game to start with and they are actually giving you extra stuff for no extra cost. Is the issue that people have something against pre-orders? And if so, why?

There are gamers we are talking about, they would whine about just about anything. Like you, i dont see the issue. But I stopped trying to understand these kinds of "actions".
 
Pathetic really, to complain about something so insignificant, well unless games constitute THE significant portion of your life that is... :/
 
Geez, just let people get the extra stuff via DLC for an extra fee. Problem solved.

Then again, the pervasive sense of entitlement with gamers today means they'd probably whine about that option too.

I could understand if the Karkand Expansion was suddenly dropped from the pro-order and had to be bought separately, but FFS, we are getting it for free!!!
 
I am surprised that as this will be exclusively available from BTGames this hasn't generated more controversy ;)

BTGames is the only dedicate games retailer, except ZAPS, we have in SA. Its no real surprise that BT have a exclusivity deal on it. Like Gamestop in the US or GAME in the UK, except they have HMV as competition.

First of all, what the hell is the big deal? As Den said, it's DICE's game and they can do what they want. At least they're not charging a monthly fee to play the game! :rolleyes:

And if you want those weapons, buy the game on the release date?! If you don't want to, well then it's your problem! DICE can charge me R800 and R300 for the DLC and I will still buy it because I know this is going to be a proper damn game and that they are just so much ahead of Actipiss on all fronts concerning the consumers and the community.

I know I also bitch about stuff (like Skyrim being ported to PC :rolleyes:), but the people that's bitching about this are the types that are just full of shit. Period.

Yes! Wtf!! Crysis 2 was a piece of art man! Exactly that. People who whine about these kinds of things seriously need to shut the hell and think about it. If they can't even appreciate a good game when it they see it, especially these days with so many crap games, then they really need to stop playing games.

Crytek, DICE and CDProjekt are all hectically in my good books at the moment!

As for boycotting BF3, LOL! I really want to see that happen! If anyone can show me a youtube video of them sitting in front of a store with a sign saying "DON'T BUY BF3" for longer than 5 minutes without literally shitting themselves from excitement and buying it anyway, I will give that man a bells and my copy of Black Ops :p!
