Battlefield 3 being boycotted over Limited Edition exclusive items

Also, obligatory request for that screenshot of the “Boycott Modern Warfare 2″ group where 85% of the people are playing MW2.

Hey man

I have contacted EA, and it doesn't look like it. This is the only real problem I have with the announcement. I really don't see why it has to be exclusive to certain retailers, just seems unfair to the smaller guys. It's like "Hey, let's give the biggest games retailers in the country (BT) this awesome exclusive content so that they can become even stronger at the expense of the smaller stores (Zaps, AWX, etc)."

I'll be pulling all the strings I have at EA to at least get enough of these special editions to cover the guys that have already pre-ordered from the MyGaming Shop.

Consider petitioning EA? BT Games is one of the worst distribution chains EVER for pre-order incentives, DLC, you name it. I have had ENDLESS grief with them.

There is no justifiable reason why a company like BT should get any exclusive content whatsoever--they CANNOT be trusted.

Is there anything we can do to convince EA otherwise? It would be my absolute pleasure to whip out a scathing criticism of BT and how they are without a doubt VILE.

Give quotas to each retailer, sure, go nuts. But EXCLUSIVELY to BT?

That's like trusting Dennis the Menace with the only candy in the world that could grant world peace :mad: Or trusting Garfield not to eat Nobel Prize-winning lasagne.

BT Games is the worst company in ZA to trust with anything important.

Someone needs to challenge this rubbish, there's no way that this can, in any reasonable society, be justified.

Very well said Lycan ..... BT really is the worst of the worst and I don't see how it's right that in this day and age, such bad choices can be made. I suppose someone, somewhere has a contact 'securing' the exclusivity rights.

You said it.

I've had a couple of "final straws" with them but the one that broke the camel's back was when I collected Duke on Friday and was told that I owe them R45! I had an invoice with me proving it was paid for, but whatever. Then they tell me, "No, there's no DLC."

So I grabbed the DLC off someone on eBay. Today comes along and at 12:00 I get a text with the DLC code! Surely they could've given that to me on FRIDAY?

For the record, I sold the code on eBay for $12 (the one I bought was $6, so I made $6 extra, which paid off the R45 those BT assholes took from me :mad:)
 
I don't boycott a game because I feel butthurt that some rich(er) kid has a gun 2 days before I get it...

It's a flash suppressor that will fit and work for exactly ONE rifle. A crappy rifle btw...
And if you think a flash suppressor is such a big deal, you've only been playing against baddies.
Try using the SV98 long version in BC2... it has a builtin flash supp. Makes no difference in being spotted AT ALL.
Any semi-awake player could spot where your fire is coming from, way before the flash suppression even makes a play into it.

Dude will you read the thread....the issue move on from exclusivity to most having a problem with BT Games having the exclusivity. The concern is more about BT Games rubbish service....Got it? Golden rule 1)read the thread properly, 2)engage brain, 3)type response. I think you forgot about steps 1&2 ;)

I'm a gamer so I'll boycott the lower-case letter "a", because it is more curved than some other letters and that makes the alphabet unbalanced which is totally immoral and unacceptable.
