EA on Dragon Age 2 "We lost some fans"

YAWAI!

I didn't mind DA2 too much but it wasn't quite the game I wanted when I thought of "Dragon Age."

However, like with Mass Effect, I want to see the series through so they'd have to epically screw up in royal proportions for me to decide against buying the next instalment(s) in the series.

I played DA but didn't get the expansion because at the end of DA I was relieved that it was over. I guess I'm just much more of a hack-and-slash fan than the extreme story driven conversation fests that some RPGs are these days. Also never got into Mass Effect. Tried in on the PC but it was so buggy at first and never bothered to give it another go.

???
This isn't news.

Oh god *facepalms vigorously*

more likely what happened

Yeah, me too. I rushed through because I found the combat segments tedious. For every single sidequest you had to do, you'd have to spend at least an hour, killing at least 5000 enemies before you got to the end of the sidequest. I still have nightmares about the Deep Roads part.

Oh gods... The Deep Roads took FOREVER. I've replayed three times and each time I get to the Deep Roads I let out an epic sigh...

I just wish there was more content and less "RAAAAWWWR DARK SPAWN PWNAGE!" in that area...

:/

"But to be honest, we lost some fans as well. They were not pleased with some of the innovations and things we'd done."

Sigh.

If they were really innovations, I doubt they would have lost fans. What they did was, imo, a regression in a number of areas core to the genre DA tries to place itself in. And that's what lost them the fans...

I actually found the first one to be more boring then the second one. The first one I got irritated and gave up after an hour as I really didn't care about what was happening in the story. Nothing grabbed me about it.
The second one on the other hand managed to hold my attention for 10 hours, the story was fine and all it just became very monotonous in my opinion.

I'm really hoping that this is not going to happen! As a PS3 gamer, I am so happy that this awesome series came to the PS3. I can't believe what we were missing out on. One of the best gaming series out there. If they manage to ruin this series, it will be a very sad day indeed!!!

Hmmm the story was just average.. the gameplay wasn't bad but atleast the graphics were awesome? IMO atleast :D makes you feel all high and mighty behind the screen owning so spectacularly lol

Next time maybe innovate more than three textures and five room designs.

This.

And downgrade the combat system again. Please.Dont.Let.Tank.Do.Twirlies.With.Greatsword.

At least they realise they are losing fans so hopefully what they do about it will be enough to get me interested again.
