Hi guys. Need some help. Looking for an digital mp3 downloads store that sell to south africans. Both Itunes,amazon.com and amazon.co.uk won't sell to me.

Please no talk of piracy here. All I am looking for is a music store that will do the same for as steam, gamersgate and gog does for my gaming needs. Pick&play and musica digital store doesn't cut. They are either down or lacking the content that I need.

I know there are methods to fool itunes and amazon but I would rather find a total legal way of buying my digital music.

Thanx Wayne.

Can't believe its such a struggle to find a mp3 store that will sell to South Africans.

Edit: Worked like a charm, used paypal since there wasn't an option to register as a south african so a bit hesitant to use a SA cc.

http://www.rhythmmusicstore.com/store/ this also works for South Africa Customers

Heh, that IS a south african store so obviously it will sell to south africans.

I suppose that 7digital is as good as things can get strictly legally without any trickery.

Personally, i use the Zune Marketplace [you also get it on Xbox Live] with uk/usa zune pass cards . You pay $15 a month and get unlimited access to the entire store, can download any music and it will work while you maintain the sub. You get 10 credits per month to buy songs that work without the sub. http://www.zune.com

In the more shady front, i've been using www.gomusicnow.com for a few years now. The catch is it's a russian site and they operate in a grey area of the law [they are legal in russia, but the usa would love to shut them down] . So i suppose they don't count as truly legal [and risky] , but at least it's open to all without having to become a fake usa citizens to buy decent music.

Still caught between buying mp3's online or buying the cd. I prefer to have something to show for my cash but i suppose it's like buying dlc for a game.

Also like the idea of having a disc after spending money. The downside of that approach is the limit of variety of music available to buy locally. Have seen the russian site before and they have everything... literally everything. Just worry a little about how legal it is. But hey, this is BRICS! And we're both part of the clan ;)

I used to think that having the disk was the only way to go, but starting to run out of storage space at home....digital solves that problem. www.7digital.com keeps all your purchases in a 'vault' so that you can dload them whenever you need to.

So its a bit like steam? You can redownload what you've bought if your hard drive crashes?

Most music stores work like that. You can redownload anything you have bought previously.

This is also what the big "hoo-hah" is about the latest cloud services from Apple/Amazon [iCloud etc] . The idea is you buy your music from Apple or Amazon and they basically put the song in your online storage without you even having to download it. You can then stream it directly from there or download it, whichever way you want to use it...but basically your entire collection or songs will be available anywhere online.

I think this would vital for it to work properly. Will have to give mp3 buying a chance.

Then the hard drive crashes, then we have to deal with SA broadband prices...
I rather buy the hard copy (online or retail).

Aaaaanyway, just register a US account on iTunes.

You can try Look and Listen's online store:

Dunno if its worth it but I know its there...

Thanx but same issue as all of the local stores. Poor selection, not even listing the new eminem album or the upcoming bizkit album.

Got sorted by 7 digital.

As to broadband pricing, if you are on uncapped it doesn't come into the reckoning.:D

The reason why I want to go digital instead of disc based. Is basicly down to poor service delivery from the local suppliers. I consider it BS that I have to wait an extra 2 weeks or more for an album to arrive locally.
