Twinbee, I thought WTF when I saw that at age 7, but I must admit the co-op is innovative

Yip correct, I remember that while playing co-op you could merge the two ships and one player controlls the merged ships which shoots a lot stronger.

Nope we only had clones, and lots of them, we also never got original games either, with places like Pick n Pay, Game and Dion selling the pirated cartridges too :-D

Yip Punch Out, will try that thanks. On a side note, there were quite a few games on the NES that had mario in it even though he had nothing to do with the game. Punch Out and Tennis comes to mind.
