Not quite, many whales are endangered or on the brink of being endangered. the Blue whale was found in abundance and now they are so few left, Blue fin tuna also is now at serious risk and likewise sharks.
While mink whales may not be endangered there is still a global moratorium on commercial whaling. Add to that the fact that the Japanese also have endangered species of whale on their hunt list, such as the humpback, and you cannot defend the legality of the Japanese whalers.
If we lose enough sharks, them being the apex predator of the ocean, we'll have serious problems on our hands, these people are doing something about it and i commend them as Paul Watson said, "if our oceans die, we die"
Whaling is barbaric and banned, under "research its allowed" whale meat is also high in mercury and as we all should know, Mercury is bad. Whales are off limits, you just dont kill them, there is more money to be made in whale watching than whale hunting.
Thats my 2c take it or leave it, not here to convince anyone.....
