Just won an Auction on bidzar.co.za. Was wondering if anyone else has won an auction and got their item?

Well to tell the truth i only just found out about mygaming.co.za - member of other forums though. Nice to be a part of a new forum

Well, I'm happy to see a new face. I just wasn't (and am still not) sure what to make of your first post advertising what looks to be penny (bidding-fee) auction.

Consider it reactive paranoia :)

I dont blame you about the 'reactive paranoia' - i certainly have my moments too. I guess i was being reactively paranoid when i posted my first (of many) posts

Well, you haven't run off yet, so no harm; no foul :)

What did you end up winning? How much did you spend to win it?

A 1TB External drive and i spent R200 - i'm pretty chaffed i must admit. I guess its all about luck to some extent - but...i've always been lucky especially on a Blackjack table :)

PS you should consider putting a countdown for Battlefield 3 in your sig - now theres a game i'd kill to get my hands on RIGHT NOW!

heh... I'm not much of a FPS gamer, especially when it comes to multiplayer FPS games.

Aside from spam or troll...

Wasn't it just a few months ago that South African law ruled penny auctions equal to online gambling and thus illegal in SA?

I'm pretty sure I remember something along those lines...

All I know is that some of the online gambling sites have been strictly forbidden from staying 'live' which is a good thing if you ask me. Well R200 for a 1TB external is pretty good. Is it a green drive though? (Kind of hates those)

I was just sharing an experience on the forum - not sure how 'spamming' would come in to play or ignoring any forum rules.

Regardless though - auction/gambling/spamming whatever.... i think i got a good deal

wait wait ... so bidorbuy is illegal :-/

Its Still ligal for Auctions.

The way these guy's handle it is gambling not Auction.

Like Waco said... Bid or Buy is a regular auction site.
Regular auctioning is fine.

What sparked controversy was Penny Auction websites.
Putting money into a machine with the hopes of winning = gambling. So yeah...
Regular auctions don't require a fee for each bid click, thus not gambling, thus legal.
