What MMO's have you played?

World of Warcraft
and...Runescape T.T I played Runescape a lot...it's really a terrible, terrible game. Pure grind on shitty graphics, don't ask me why I played as much as I did.
 
Well the free one I am playing now is Rose Online. See other thread on it to join - cutesy graphics, local server and seems nice so far. +-640 MB

Still must try World of Kungfu so can't say yet but according to the thread it is pretty cool. +- 1GB

Otherwise one of the best at the moment is Runes of Magic that comes highly recommended by others - kinda like World of Warcraft. Can't remember how big but will definitely be quite large.

Check the Youtube videos to see if you are interested - maybe use Microsoft's new Bing search engine for videos - it has a nice mouse over feature that previews the videos.

But in all honesty, if you're willing to fork out <R200 for a copy of Guild Wars, or around R360-R400 for the Complete Collection (all 4 games - a steal), you'll be much better off. No monthly payments but with quality that exceeds just about anything out there.

Forgot to mention I have Guild Wars + expansions thats why i'm looking for another free MMO to play:) I'll read up on Rose online and Runes of Magic to see how they are.
 
I have only really played Guild Wars, I will be joining World Of Kungfu at the end of the month though.
 
Only mmo I've played is wow. Would have loved to play more but could only start when I got my first CC (only thing I ever really used it on :p). Now I have no more cash to play anymore and time I suppose... but monies is the bigger issue as I have no issues with hermitting it up a bit :p

Why not give Lineage II a go?
It is FREE! Free to download and Free to play! (You can't play on the official server from South Africa, but hey there are 1000's of private servers available)

If you dont have a big cap to download the game, send me an email or pm and I will get a disc to you.

I've heard of it but never actually checked it out. How big is the client?

I played a bit of Chronicle 4. I didn't play a lot though. Although I'm thinking about starting it up again. Getting a bit bored with WoW.
 
*Approximate dates:

Ultima Online (around '97 - 99) - approx. 2 years
Everquest ('99 - '03) - 5 years poof!
Dark Age of Cametlot ('03 - '04) - Got bored and was struggling to keep up the costs of an ISDN line
Everquest ('05 - '06) - My daughter was born and my study became pink ..
Everquest 2 ('06 - '06) - Got bored
World of Warcraft ('06 - present)
EVE online ('07ish for a while and now necroed)

EVE is my long term online MMO for now. I aim to log in, do some PvP, training, trading but will not dedicate the hours I did to WoW or EQ.

WoW is my short term MMO. Due to work commitments, it has become difficult to keep up with the guilds raiding requirements. So I'll raid when possible but for now it will be to level alts, BG's (no arena as I really really suck at PvP) and just mess around.

I am waiting for that next BIG mmo to be released, whatever that may be ....

The only free *online game I play is eRepublic (As work doesn't block it ... for now)

... and I did my bit in MUD's as well ... back in the 90's.

Ah ... the memories. As said earlier - steep learning curve, but once I got into it, it kept me busy for many an hour.
