The Steam specials thread

Hey there. Sorry for delayed reply earlier.

If you logged onto another PC with your steam account and downloaded the game, performed a steam backup, restored it to your PC it shall indeed work.

If you already began the download on your machine you need to remove the game files from your machine. i.e Right click the game and say delete, uninstall or something like that. This will stop the download on your steam client as well. Once that is done you can restore the game from the steam backup you created on the other machine.

Hope that answers your question.

That was perfect mate!! Thanks a lot!!

I would actually recommend Xeno Clash for something odd and different. It's definitely not everybody's game, but I did enjoy it.

At first they came from the skies, and we repelled them with hired spaceships on a shoestring budget! Now they’re back, and they’re sending their ground troops to destroy our bases – thirty-ton monsters with glowing eyes and slavering jaws! And we still don’t have any money! Quickly assemble a defensive position using blaster turrets

Choice paralysis strikes gamers all too often, especially in the wake of a Steam Summer Sale. Dozens of options are just a double-click away, but all you can do is stare at the daunting list of unplayed games, unable to make up your mind.

No longer: Reddit user benmatth took a page from Google’s playbook and created an EXE that, when run, picks a game from your list at random and starts it up. In our first test on Evan’s PC it ran Arma 2 – which, let’s face it, he was gonna do anyway – but this is a great way to make sure that none of your games feel neglected.

Note: the program’s only been around for less than a day at the time of this writing, so it might still have a few bugs. On one of our PCs it just crashes every time, which is neither random nor lucky.

So which game did you guys play first? Me - Defence Grid.

Xmas I add steam to the routers firewall... :/
Speaking of routers...you guys might want to add port 27030 to your routers QoS & give it lowest priority possible. Helps (a bit) to keep the line usable while steam is downloading.

Oblivion, then Bad Company 2. Now downloading X3: Terran Conflict, and planning on downloading Sanctum after that, followed by The Longest Journey series. Still need to decide which of the ten other games I'm going to download after that. :P

Music: Beautiful original soundtrack was composed and recorded by Floex (Samorost2 OST)
Communication: You won't find any lengthy boring dialogs in this game, characters talk by comic bubbles with simple animations and symbols

Oh noes, I bought the ID pack when it was on sale during the Summer Camp sale for $30. I see the same pack is on sale now for the same price, however, this time it includes Quake 4:(

Holy damnation. Skyrim preorder is $59.99

Eh, with the current exchange rate, it's still more or less R400, which is an average price to pay for most games nowadays. $60 for Americans is lot worse than it is for us, though.
