The 10 most dissapointing games of the last year

Wow, that sounds terrible...wtf were they thinking?! It's just amazing how they could not have realized that Fable 3 might just be the shittiest game ever made? Geez man, I'll even take Brink over that any day!

:P I hope that wasn't sarcasm... It kinda sounded like sarcasm in my head ;) I'd also take a week of Brink over half an hour of Fable 3 any day.

Fable III wasn't that bad once you realised it wasn't like the previous 2, perhaps it's also cause I only paid R50 for it ;-).

I actually just started Fable 3. I've played it once, and every time I've decided to game a bit since then, I've played something else instead. I just can't bring myself to play more of it

Oh geez, I stopped paying attention to this series after the first game. The first one was epic, but then they totally killed it. Kinda sad, as I still remember the first one as one of the most coolest games I've played.

This.

They took away all the coolest elements in Fable1 when they made the sequels:
- Worthwhile demon door / silver chest rewards
- awesome looking armor sets WITH appropriate stats!
- amazing weapons that made your progression feel worthy

Avon's tear, the bereaver, the harbinger, etc. all those weapons looked the part and made you feel like you achieved something special. Also, the fire assassin armor and the full plate golden, rusty and black armor with dragon helms were just too cool.

Fable 2 was just annoying. The armor looked terrible and so did the weapons. The chests were useless. Giving me a 50,000 reward for a chest located in a mansion I just paid 1,000,000 for isn't exactly going to impress me very much.

Also, 1-shotting the final boss in #2 is a "little bit" of a let down compared to the Jack of Blades fight in F1.

True they dude remove a lot of the awesome from the first one, spells that were worthwhile like the spell where the souls come from hell to rip the person down with them, or the good version where they took them up. The armour was disappointing in both sequels and yes the Demon Doors weren't the same. But still enjoyed them as RPG lites, wife still loves the Fable series though.

I enjoyed the gameplay in Fable 2, I felt the way magic/shooting/melee worked felt 'cool'. The art and the environments were also very lovely. What really let it down was the story, well really the end of the story, and too much focus on all the other random stuff like professions/marraige/relationships. To work up to the end boss for the entire game and to have him flop over dead without you even touching him was complete nonsense.

Progress also stopped fairly early, I think I got the best weapons in the game about 30-40% of the way through. It's a pity though because I actually do like Fable but with each iteration they keep trying to focus on gimmicks instead of the core gameplay.

I'm ashamed i actually finished 3. You know what the dumbest thing in the game was? You... Can't... Die. Wtf, the game doesn't challenge you in any sort of way.

I found the graphics just too unbareable. I was kinda expecting it to morph into better graphics to perhaps show us how it has improved over the years.... or something :| I couldn't believe my eyes. I then started thinking my xbox was broken and had to put in Halo Reach to reasure myself that I didn't go back in time...

No sarcasm dude, I'm serious. I LOVED Fable, it was sooooo awesome. They totally cocked it up afterwards. It's just mind-boggling how they could fsck something that good up with games like Fable II and III.

The only jaw dropping disappointment that I've had that matches with the list was Dragon Age 2, not really much need to expand on that. Duke, well, I was expecting it to not be that great, so it more matched my expectations. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I can understand how Dead Space 2 ended up on the list since I didn't particularly enjoy it. Was hoping for more focus on the deep space survival horror aspect rather than it turning into a shooter and gore porn. The developer didn't make any secret of the fact that the game was getting a much stronger action focus though.

LA Noire on the list? Seriously? Maybe people expected GTA set in the 40's hence it being disliked, but I loved that game.

I'll agree with many, DA2 was a dissapointment, and DS3 was appalling.

Noone excited about skyrim then? I am alone? Oh balls... Why aren't I studying?! EXAMS START MONDAY!!! AAAHHHHH!!!! *Dies*

Very keen for it, but I'll have to get it on my sexbox seeing as I won't do the game any justice on my crappy 8600GT gfx card. :o
