Decent backlit keyboard.

Going to do the DIY route now and then I'd be needing a decent gaming keyboard that's has a proper backlit feature.

Don't know gaming keyboards :o, but sure someone at least know of decent one :D

Using a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.
Fackin' nice.
First one I used for about a year, then my left CTRL key stopped working, emailed Logitech, said they'd send me a new one. 1 week later, got a fresh new keyboard. Still the best I've used. ^_^

And love my Razer Lycosa, it has 3 settings - all backlit, just the wasd keys or no illumination. And i actually use all three options depending on what Im doing.

I'm a bit skeptic now about the Lycosa...mine's fucking out :/. I watching this thread now because I also need a new keyboard. My keys are just soooo kak, they are so hard and it's such a mission to type on that keyboard. I think it's just mine though. Just my luck

I've been meaning to get myself a Razor Lycosa for ages now...but my concern is the advertised picture looks quite different from google searches on it. :(

In the latter and other google images, the keys look blue/grey'ish and rubbery...rather than charcoal/black and plastic.

The keyboard goes for around R600.

Voicy, there are 2 versions of this keyboard..The bottom picture is the non-glossy version with the rubber keys. You need to make sure you get the Mirror Edition. That's the one with the plastic keys.

So far I have had no complaints with my Lycosa :)

Oh yay! Mirror edition is R560, normal is R640. ^_^

Yar get the mirror one! They are really ossim keyboards, took me 5mins to get used to the lower profile keys and now I struggle with my cheap as . . . keyboard at work :P

The rubber/matte one is crap - saw a friend's one and most of the "matte" finish had rubbed off her keys in less than 3 months. Where as both MissM and I have had ours a year now I guess if not more and I just wipe mine off once a week and it looks like new.

this was the biggest disappointment of a keyboard i ever owned. There was a problem with some of them were keys would get were it would seem the key are stuck but all happened in the software or something and i couldn't swap it out after a month as prophecy said there nothing wrong with the keyboard. and then after i own it for year and few days(read just out of warranty) razer did recall and i was just out side the recalled batch. aka i wont ever buy a razar keyboard again.

S is for Sux. :/

Did you get the SE mirror edition or the original rubber key one?

I've got a MS Sidewinder (think it's an X6) with red backlight and it's pretty decent as well. The big volume knobs are a bit ugly but thats the only negative for me and it's not that bad. You can also move the numpad from right to left, and vice versa, which is pretty cool. I bought mine for R499.95 from BT Games a while ago.
