EA doesn't expect Battlefield 3 to outsell Modern Warfare 3

Good read and the man speaks sense.
BF3 will be amazing and so will MW3, the main difference here is that MW already has a huge following and I already stated in another thread that not one game will outsell MW3 this year.

Exactly. The current following of MW will just about be enough to keep the title hugely successful. I know I would rather buy the new MW over BF simply because I am familiar with and love previous CoD titles. That being said, I do really want to give BF3 a shot!
 
I wonder if Modern Warfare is the new FIFA, where they can pump out an almost identical game every year and still be number one in the sales charts.

if dota 2 or diablo 3 comes out they will out sell MW3

Dota 2 will be free to play and Diablo 3 will only be out next year and even then, it will not out sell mw 3
Just look at how well the mw series games have done, they have out sold everything..by miles.
 
The man does make sense. But Battlefield also has a pretty big following nowadays as well, and BF3 is looking amazing from what I've seen. Taking 20% market share is a huge leap, and considering the size of that market, that will definitely make for a successful game.

WOW is not a new game being released xD and its not exactly the same genre.
WOW does have a massive following but its been out for a million years xD and if you wanna bring wow into it, then I think if we had to combine the sales of COD4 mw and blops, WOW would be left wanting.
 
I have no doubt that EA will chip away at CoD's franchise, and rightly so. I would rather see a quality game come out every 3 years than the same old game rehashed every November.
