Is there life after Atheism?

After the hotly debated theory that my butt will end up in hell, i thought to share my opinion, please hold the pitchforks.

so, here's some food for thought. since every religion on this planet believes your going to hell for not believing in them, technically speaking we are all going to hell.

i vote we hold a nice warm home coming party for the dearly disappointed departed, who's bring the chips?

yes i do believe in something, more nature and that type of thing, but not in religion itself. tricky thing this religion.

oh yeah who's bringing the beer? the last time i did someone promised to bring ice but didn't so the beer was warm. the newcomers were not happy.

Be not afraid. You need not go to The Bad Place if you follow the One True Way.
For a modest fee, I shall cleanse you sould and instruct you in the discernment
of Truth, after which there will be milk and cookies.

#Some people like their beer warm.

Lol @ Impish
I'm sure you are referring to my attempt at satire and your sorry ass being flame-grilled in the christian hell :D

You should explore the endless possibilities of Zanaism, the way of the elves :)

Begone, pointy-eared heathen, or suffer the wrath of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Hmmm, I can see this turning ugly.

Let's play nicely this time guys; yes, and that includes me. First sign of pear-shaped-ness and this gets locked down tighter than a nun's chastity belt.

I cannot see it move past Pitchforks and burning torches ;)

For the record, I'm an Unorthodox Neopagan Islamic Jewish Wicca Christian Humanist rooted in the Latter Day Saints of Confucianism and Shinto with a touch of Sikhism, or Dixie for short...

Nuns wear chasity belts!?

Let me run this one by my friend, Benedict Exveeone

Trying to cover as many bases as possible, are we Dixie?

I came across the following article in a copy of 'New Scientist' at my local library:

Born Believer

As for what my world-view is, why I think that should be obvious by now. ;)

Don't let the name of the magazine put you off, Dixie. It is quite accessible to the general public. You need only be curious and literate to get something out of it.

WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!! there I said it lol.... screw religion we're all gonna end up going to our happy places :p

I don't think anyone in their right mind would disagree with your comment on mortality, Syco.

What happens if my Happy Place requires that I be alive?

Ah well, may as well enjoy my life as much as possible while I still can then.

/Signs up for 'Epicurean Monthly'.

Ok here's some amusement for you that i found yesterday in my spare time. i found it pretty amusing :)

http://atheistdiscussion.com/showthread.php?t=691

I just read the initial post and have to say that "good" and "bad" are based on the majority perspective of a community/culture.

Let's take cannibalism for instance. A tribe on some island that partake in cannibalism see nothing wrong with it but western culture deems this "bad".

Religion portrays the ideas of "good" and "bad", and uses them as a form of control. There are countless news articles on the net about religious groups protesting against one thing or another that in cases have no right or wrong stigma for someone who has no religious beliefs.

I had a point to all of this but it seems it got bored and floated away...

I really live elves.....

You actually LIKE elves?

Elves are eldritch creatures who take delight in the suffering of other creatures.
That would be the original elves of European folklore, not the sugar-coated, Shakespeared and Disneyfied one we see at the cinema or read about in contemporary fantasy.

Why is this thread not called, "Is there life after religion?"
