i would love to buy this game while its on special on steam and play it before bf3 comes out.
But sadly in south africa i never tell if a multiplayer game is worth it until i find out the community 1st.
So Lets see your thoughts....

Well I'll certainly be getting it - and try convince my friends to get it as well. Everything I've read about it has grabbed my attention and I'm actually keen for a WWII game again. Also really hoping for a local server.

I'll buy it if there's a local server. It looks like it's gonna be a real different style of WW2 game than we've seen in a while.

We are looking at putting up a server for this
Keep an eye on the iGame section for announcements

There are really too many good games coming out. There needs to be a way to slow down the rate of the Earths rotation for longer days and nights for more gaming time.

From what I can tell from initial previews and videos the game seems to be intended for large format gameplay, ie 64 players etc
Now the problem with this is that you'd need 64 players to fully enjoy it then

The servers do apprently provide some sort of flexibility in terms of scale , scaling down to 32 or 16 players is apprently possible
So depending on how many local players we see we will scale our server/servers to attempt to give you guys at least some degree of gameplay

With the game releasing soon, hopefully this article may convince some more guys to get it. Here's hoping for 64 player server to be filled! Either way, I'm really keen to play this game.

Red Orchestra 2 article

Kind of in 2 minds about this game. Battlefield 3 is coming too soon and there's too many games to buy. You can't possible buy them all. So in the end I think I'm taking a skip on this. Most of the veteran FPS players will all be playing BF3 locally so this game is likely only going to end up with a niche following and eventually die out.

Ya it's unfortunate that it's close to the mighty BF3, that also made me deliberate a bit but I decided to get both. At least it's got a 4 player co-op campaign as well so if the servers are quiet I can still enjoy the game with some friends.

You didn't just say that :P Hahaha

But yeah, it is unfortunate because it really looks like a cool game. Would definitely have gotten it if it wasn't for Deus Ex and Trackmania 2, that I bought, and then SkyRim and BF3 of course. Too many games dude. Can't buy 'em all!

Hey guys

I'm just wondering how many people are usually on the servers? I heard about the game being buggy at launch but they then released 4 patches in 5 days. (that's what i heard) SO impressed by the support of it, however I'm not sure if i should buy it if there aren't many people playing it. Appreciate it if someone would let me know.

Thanks

Hey Akirts, the game has it's bugs but none of them all that game breaking (except maybe the stupid audio problem where you lose all ingame sound and have to restart the game, fortunately not too often), the patches have helped already. Locally there aren't that many players (servers usually empty) but I've joined an empty server one evening and about 6 other guys joined in soon thereafter.

Fortunately if you can connect to an international server with a ping under 300 the game is playable and with a full server a lot of fun. The more I play this game the more I'm enjoying it, definitely has it's own feel and the Territory game mode is brilliant. I get the feeling that that was how warfare was like in WW2, taking territory building by building, dodging from cover to cover.

Hopefully we'll get a community going over here over time; the game, despite its flaws, is worth it.
