If theres any forum readers here who managed to get out of SA ,
please tell us how you managed to do so , where you moved to and how you find things.
If you have any recommendations and if you would rate it a better place than SA ?
Also some advice on how one might go about getting out of here would also be nice.

My cousin got the opportunity to move overseas to Belgium with her promotion at work, she took it and was very happy there for the first few years but now after 5 years she is most likely looking at coming back home again.

I travel a lot overseas myself, so of course would love to live in some of the places that I have visited, but I honestly don't know how I would possibly leave my family behind. Also not being in a steady relationship right now makes that a bit easier but I doubt I could ever leave my partner behind if I had one at the time of wanting to leave unless they came with me.

Well the simple bottom line is you got have something the other country want. (skills, money and some countries even want certain ages and skin colour.)

Then you have a very good chance or like the above. You get a company from here to send you over, but once again it would mean you would have to posses a certain skill.

Any place where white people are actually welcome ?
Seeing we arent welcome in our own country and our race is being slaughtered like animals.
Even my uncle got shot in his own house in front of his wife , his 9 year old son and his 16 year old daughter.
Left to bleed on the kitchen floor while his daughter was telling daddy not to die.
This country makes me sick.

it really is a pity when it comes to this though, this country is awesome minus the crime and shit latency !

Are you perhaps in IT or Engineering?

What's your profession, qualification, background, age, years of experience & industry? I'm a recruitment consultant and most of my clients are big international companies. If I can help, I would happily ask them in our next meeting about resource requirements in other counties... maybe it would give you a bit of direction.

I move to London 3 months ago. How, simple Married a European so I get a free pass.
While many might point at the recent riots as a huge negative for moving to the UK along with high price of living I can tell you that it is well worth it. Technology wise, game wise damn move here just for the internet, 40mb/s uncapped = Epic.
Getting a job can be a pain thought if you are qualified in some sort of IT field it might go easier.

I have another buddy who is in the process of immigrating to Aus and even though he is engaged to a girl with perm res in Aus and still had to submit records of most of his life just for the possibility to get in.

That is pretty FUCKED UP, main reason I left. Didn't want to come home one day and find my wife raped and/or murdered.
Just remember that this sort of thing can happen anywhere it is just less likely to happen in a country with a lower national crime rate.

NZ is a good bet...they have shortest time to passport. Pretty sure they have/will change that though.

It mainly depends on you education & profession. With the right combo you can get in anywhere. Without it its an uphill battle.

By far the easiest though is to get you company to move you. With company backing there are essentially zero barriers.

Just be aware that countries kick people out if they don't meet requirements half way through. Yeah even if you've got a wife & kid there.

Bit of a shitty time to move atm though...world economy feels too wobbly.

Considering you're open to taking random options from a gaming forum it sounds like you're making quite an impulsive decision here.

My personal recommendation, if you've seriously weighed up reasons other than "the crime sucks", is to work a short stint overseas in a potential new country to get a proper feel for it; no vague recommendation online is going to give you a true sense of a place, and everyone's preferences are different.

Also, I know more people who've left SA and come back because they were suckered by the whole "grass is greener" syndrome than I do expats who've remained overseas. I don't claim to know everything about your situation or just how fed up you really are, but pause for some serious thought before making a knee-jerk decision.

I applied for, and was granted, Cypriot citizenship last year. I would like to go and suss the place out if I can. Not sure that I would be able to get a job there. My brother, as a professional, is more likely to have people lining up to offer him a job. The other thing is that the SA government is rumoured to be looking at banning dual citizenship.

Australia or Austria?
Coz I am wanting to go up to Austria, so this kinda peaked my interest.

My whole family is currently in the process of migrating to Canada... My dad and my mom had to get all of their previous work listed.. And have proof.. And we all had to get documents.. But Itz taking quite a while for everything to be processed..

Going to Australia at the end of the year on the back of IT job opportunities. Trying my best not to end up in Perth because of the apparent similarities to South Africa, but that's just me - I want to get away from the culture and experience something different. Don't let any notions of Perth being more South African than Australian fool you though. I've heard a lot of people thinking this. There are like 14000 South Africans in Perth, and percentage-wise Perth only has about 5% more South Africans than other big cities.

You should consider Canada as well. Friendly, laid back country with a lot of career opportunities, and a lot of fish as well.

Lots of documents involved in moving though, and we had to wait about two years for the Visas to be approved.

Looks like I might end up in england. My dad is british and I can get in with out any hassle got family there.
Just want to finish my c# and then I will look at places. Really sick of feeling unwanted here.

But I don't know but things here are looking really dodgey. I don't like to sound like a dooms sayer but things are getting a bit scary.
It may not be soon or even in a few years but this country is def going south.
