So seeing as how Diablo 3 will need perma ic and people are worried about latency etc I was taking a look in the Diablo forums. While a lot of those "foreigners" with amazing internet have nice computers their posted internet connection speeds don't seem to be that high.

I found speedtest.net and gave it a whirl at work, and just want to know what everybody else's scores are. Mine, here at work is
ping: 121 ms
download speed: 4.71 mb/s
upload speed: 0.52 mb/s

So yeah run the benchy and post some results

Done on a PC in the labs in the middle of the day ;)

Holy crabsticks that's fast!!! I wish I had that connection!!
Indeed, rather quick. Just bear in mind that the speedtest there is done to a server at the same datacentre, a test to Joburg reaches similar speeds to what Tanka's speedtest at Wits reflects, although sometimes a bit faster.

Got this from work in the middle of the day and I dont know if any of the other 20 employees are browsing Facebook or doing what they do best now.

Work: Telkom ADSL with MWeb 4Mb uncapped. Sync'd at 6143Kbps down | 639 Kbps up

Huge difference between Telkom and Afrihost.

Telkom - speedtest.net

Afrihost - speedtest.net

Again, big difference between Telkom and Afrihost. I must say my pings are higher than normal today. I have been having connection issues since last night, might be because of that.

EDIT:

Hmm. It looks like on that first speedtest.net test it shows IS as my ISP. I'll retest it quick.

OK. Fixed. Looks like my ping is back to normal.

I've heard that Afrihost Uncapped accounts gets heavily shaped if you reach a certain point. My Afrihost Capped account performs about the same as my Openweb Uncapped & Unshaped account from the previous post.

I'm not running Afrihost uncapped though. I'm on prepaid. So yeah, it's really bad. :(
