Infinity Ward “doesn’t care about sales numbers” for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

If there are three people having a great time then we've done our job correctly and we will be happy

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Because they have got so many gamers hooked that they really don't have to worry, the game will sell like hot cakes anyway.

Maybe this is the start of the second queue or those guys weren't allowed in because it was full.

Murph, Murph, Murph.

/shakes head in dissapointment

If there really was more than 3 people that wanted to play the game, the Q would have been fuller. :p

The only reason they don't care is becuase they know for a fact it's going to sell like a mofo. I hope I don't cave and add to their sales. :o

IW is merely laying the foundation for their speech of defeat cause they know they've been whipped by Dice's BF3. Once everyone finally sees and knows that for a fact, IW can gracefully bow out, without too much egg on their face.

To be fair, COD had a very good run, but I suspect that even Activision knows that it's either time to can the franchise after MW3 or they are going to have to do a serious redo of the game. Since COD4, all the releases after that have essentially been the same game with extremely small improvements and sometimes even steps backwards and with the spectacular looking BF3 launching, it is simply showing up COD's age even more.

I suspect that within the next 6 months to a year there will be a "leak" about the COD series being given a complete overhaul and possibly a screenshot or two showcasing this. Possibly even tiny little "nip slip" of a video clip.

Well, in fact. No, no and no.

See what matters to publishers is money and sales. not the Quality of game. They don't give a rat's ass. Even EA, if you look at the NFS series its just gone from bad to worse, except for the Excellent Shift series. About every game of their's is just rehash after rehash after rehash. They stopped producing the epic old Origin systems titles because "they don't see it to be profitable". Don't be fooled to much thinking that EA/ Dice really care. They don't. It's all marketing. It goes both ways though, Activision is doing the same as EA in promising all the bells and whistles, listening to the community and what not.

But its allllllllllll marketing trying to reel in players. To get back to my previous point. Mark my words today. BF3 might be the best game in the world, might be leaps and bounds better than MW3 on its own merits, but MW3 will still have a larger player base, and make more profit. This is a GUARANTEE. What does that mean, More Money into the pockets of Acti and IW / Sledgehammer, which inturn means that the egg is actually in EA's face no matter which way you spin it. MW3 may be a complete disaster, but it will outsell BF3 by leaps and bounds, so Activision win AGAIN.

I'm not taking sides though as I will be playing both games, so I won't banter the games, cause to me, while both of them Being FPS, they deliver a different experience, and I can get the best of both worlds by buying and playing both :)
