Hey guys, just wondering what people would think of this as an idea.

What if those camera's that were attached to the "ghost squad" so that when people do speed it takes a photo of the number plate and sends it to the traffic department who then issue the fines.
The car that then was responsible for taking the photo then gets a small percentage back as a goodwill reward to use as a mini salary. Thus improving incomes and making the roads a safer place?

ROFL ... talk about getting the random guess right :D

*keeps quiet about the fact that he spent a few of his formative years in Benoni* :p

I knew there was something about you...

Do you think we're family, oh wait! That only happens in Springs... "whistling:

I dunno hey .. that sounds like a logistical nightmare waiting to happen.

I've heard of tickets being thrown out simply because someone managed to prove that the normal mounted camera wasn't being operated correctly - they need to be at a specific angle and distance and who knows what other things to be accurate - and managing that in a moving vehicle will be next to impossible - not to mention the relative velocity differences.

Also ... assuming they sort that out, what will stop corrupt coppers from gaming the system to line their own pockets?

Oh and FML my boss drew with a red pen on my 27" screen, not I have a little red line on it :(

woah, that would piss me off beyond belief. I remember coming into work the one day and finding that my boss had used cleaning detergents on our server screen. Stuff like Jik etc. We had a big discoloured area that was the size of a tennis ball in the corner of the screen as a result of it. We still have a tiny patch left of it but for the owner of an internet cafe to be so stupid is beyond me

Well either way it would make people drive slower instead of speeding down the roads. So real objective accomplished. But if it can be done correctly it could be a good idea.
I am just really getting pissed off with some of the drivers on the roads today and thought this little idea could benefit a lot of people

I for one don't like the idea. Just my 2c

@czc - dont worry my boss does this with pencil on a daily basis! (I hide all pens near my desk ;P)

BTW Who stole my magic wand?!?!?!?!

I need it to klap some sense into the idiots in the back. They called me now cos there is a paper jam in our A0 photocopier. They keep telling me they removed the paper - OBVIOUSLY NOT since there is still a paper jam! I got the offending piece of paper out and just walked out.

I do vaguely recall laying lines across the road (electric cable works fine) when I was still in high-school - cars suddenly slowing down when not expecting speed-traps was epic - the trick being to lay them in places other than where the coppers usually put them down.

I suppose these days you'd grab a mate with a Venture, and site there with something vaguely camera-looking on a tripod :p Although explaining yourself to any cops that happened by would be a pain of sorts :D
