Dead Island

This game looks okay, got it yesterday but only installed it. My girlfriend started the game and she says it looks cool. will play a bit tonight.

This game is like borderlands gets kind of boring alone but as soon as you throw a few friends at it its just an awesome experience
 
oh man, Zombie games rule especially when you get to team up with buddies. this game must be bought today! ONWARD TO BT FINE STEED!!!
 
I suggest getting the config tool - check the game steam forum, it's a sticky thread.
You can disable the annoying graphic effects like motion blur, bloom, etc.
 
Has this game been patched and fix yet? Cos last time i saw it was very buggy and had developers comands in it.
 
Yes, apparently it has. I only got it after the whole debacle, tho. Still seems buggy, although I've only had one weird incident, where I must have inadvertently hit something that completely disabled movement and keyboard response. Could look around, but not do anything, and no response from keyboard. Had to end the task to get out. But it only happened the once. It's been fine otherwise.
 
Any game that's made for Cooperative play should be played Co-op. That said, DI is no exception to the rule. Game runs great, although... There are times I'll get a stutter, but only after playing for a while. Sometimes controls stop work. Had a coupla crashes too.
 
My two cents; the game is buggy and incredibly annoying.

I have to force myself to play because I'm trying to review the damn thing and I'm hoping it gets more entertaining, but so far, it's just tedious, boring and annoying.

The PSN co-op matchmaking seems to be pretty useless and I'm lucky if I ever see someone to join or have someone join.

I came here specifically to rant after a particularly annoying stint.

While I'm playing I'm thinking how Dead Rising 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are just more fun to play.

Also don't forget the auto equipt alchol and if you kick someone you automaticly drink it as well. I just want to finish it one more time with my friends then its going in storage till the dlc is here.
Also don't you just love how after the 4th zombie your weapon is fked up.

Haha the fail friends scanning thing is fail also if your on the main quest and invite friend they won't be able to join or the fact that a level 4 can join a level 33 character game and get raped.
Also the fact is if your logan and you throw weapons someone else can pick it up, so if they are not your friend they just got your weapons. |

I don't find it boring since play mostly with 2 friends but dam its annoying and some quest are tedious for sure.
 
Agreed, there are some incredible annoyances with this game. Admittedly I haven't played it Co-op yet. I've only seen people "nearby" once. Yay.

+1 for the alcohol auto-equip, THAT is f-ing annoying. Can't say I've seen the 'drink when kick' thing though.

Also, the fact that thugs easily kick the snot out of you really pisses me off. They barely look at you and you go flying across the map... and then the whole 'stand up after being knocked down' animation gets boring after the 20th time. It's also interesting how quickly you can take a thug down if you have.. rage, frenzy, whatever its called. Usually rip its head off with one move. Sigh.. it's a bit stupid actually.

have to agree with you on the knocked down animation, but other than that, the game looks quite nice! only played a bit in co-op and it looked cool!

+1 to that. I've LANned with 2 of my buddies, and that was simply amazing. I have to give it to this game, despite the numerous bugs and flaws(absolutely ANAL gunplay), it really delivers a level of entertainment that few co-op games manage. And co-op games always deliver the best. (That is, once we got the damn thing to co-operate. There is no middle-finger big enough for steam)

Usually with the thugs we would just go for the arms with a bladed weapon. Chop both off at the shoulders, and that thing is useless. We were ROFLing as the thug tried headbutting my buddy. The next move is to go in with a baseball bat. Break the knees, and watch it suffer. It felt really good. I love how this game makes you enjoy things you know you shouldn't. We were rolling through the island, and we were the baddest motherf***ers on it. It feels a lot like some gangfight when you park/powerslide a bakkie on some zombies, jump out and then proceed to beat the living(?) k@k out of some random people. Jump in and speed away.
 
Cash Crusaders in Tokai (CT) has a copy of it there for R99. Second hand obviously but still pretty cheap
