What brand and size flash disc do you have, is there really anything a person should give special attention to when buying one besides the size?
 
Personally I would stay away from Cheap / Unknown brands.
Had one and it worked for 2 weeks then went dead.
So imo stick with a reputable brand, like Kingston, Transcend etc.
I still have a 128mb Transcend drive that works. (although cant reaaalllyyy used it due to the size :))
 
I have an 8GB Verbatim. It's 2mm thick, 12mm wide and 26mm long. Nice and small to fit in my wallet.

But yeah, Verbatim, kingston, transcend are fine - I wouldn't plug unknown jobbies into my usb ports.
 
I prefer to stay away from Kingston as they usually pack up the quickest out of the more recognised brands. I like Sandisk and Verbatim. My brother has a Canyon one and that has served him very well.
 
Kingston FTW. Always had good experiences with Kingston. I currently have a 8GB flash drive that I use every now and again. I also have a Kingston SSD that has served me well too.

Must say the Canyon has surprised me, But agree with you that kingston seems to pack up when you start using them everday much faster than Sandisk and verbatim or even the canyon.
 
IVe got a Kingston on my car keys that has taken so much beating and it still works . Still have a couple of 1 and 2GB Kingston at home that also still work.

Currently i have a usb 2 32GB that is my main storage and my 4GB on my keys.

I bought 2 x 8GB usb 3 adata s102 flash drives. Got a nice metal casing and in your hands it just feels right .

Cant describe it but go look at one pick it up and feel just something about it feels right.


The main thing id say is USB 3 is a must atm. Its backward compatible to usb 2 and on my usb 3 board ive copied at 120Mb/s

why i bought 2 x 8GB is that there was no 16GB as i think 16GB is the way to go .

1 x 8 GB I'm suing as a bootable windows disk. I cloned my ORGINIAL windows disk and also added my latest drivers into a folder and this is now my emergency flash.. Much easier to carry than a cd bag. And usb 3 bootable drive + SSD = install windows and drivers in under 15 Min .


the other 8GB im using for everyday stuff.

So for me it is USB 3 16GB ( 8GB ) Min and stay away from the flip out ones they wear out after a while

2mm thick? Its slightly thicker than a piece of paper? How does it even stay in the slot?

I installed windows sooner. I said that in 15 min I was done installing drivers after all the restarts etc etc and ready to go :D Not just Windows
