sick of the bf3 mw3 hype

What i really want on a box is a totally random picture of a unicorn running through big open Prairies on my fps box.

I would actually like to see more hype on Skyrim. Now thats an FPS worthy of our attention. If you can call it an FPS. First Person Slasher? ok its an RPG. Running Pwning and Gunning. flip I don't know my genre's.

I think it's called an FPSRPG, but I'm not entirely sure. FPRPG would make more sense, but I've never heard it been used before.

Sums it up

Each to their own but it does get a bit much.

Don't take this the wrong way, but can I kiss you already?

There is just something about a long-winded rpg that can't create hype/excitement. Like you want to play it... but it is not a hugely exciting game even if it is brilliant.

FPSers attract hype as the games usually have things to be excited about. Like seriously, the information that is newsworthy is the release of a map image?

I think both games are going to be pretty amazing seeing as Infinity Ward has really gone all out on making MW3 and I think BF3 is also looking great and it's bringing back the things that we missed in BF2 like going prone and having huge maps making use of all those vehicular warfare etc :P I'm going to try my best to get hold of both games :)

I really don't know why people are getting so excited about MW3. Battlefield 3 looks great but cod has been on a steady decline since World at War. The gfx hasn't improved since MW2 either. It still looks the same and if its anything like Black Ops, runs very slowly.

At least with battlefield we can see how much they are changing the gfx as well as the gameplay.

I reckon the only way too change CODs graphics is to get a new engine, however this will result in the Counter-Strike 1.6 vs Source debacle, with millions of crybabies crying out like babies :P

I know right? Who cares about the map image. I like Bethesda's style though, Skyrim is just going to sell because it has Elder Scrolls as its pre text but they always make amazing games. People( myself included ) just want more Oblivion.

Yeh, so I want Skyrim a lot... I just don't find any excitement building up... It is weird but just the facts.

BF3 has things to be excited about. The engine is amazing and the movement of the models is spectacular. MW3 will probably have a cool story, but since that only lasts 3/4 hours I usually wonder if it was worth the R500 for the cutscenes, a small amount of SP gaming and a limited MP. So I am not very excited for that either.

Me, on the other hand, I find it difficult to build up excitement for FPS games. I just feel they're too 'casual'. I've been having dreams about Skyrim all year though. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. :P

This type of competition and "hype" should not be seen as a battle of the fans, or with a negative perspective; one should step back and look at the bigger picture and see how it affects us as gamers, and realise that we actually get better titles as a result.

If three of the top ice cream or chocolate makers in the world say try our best product, you're gonna take all three (if you could) >> what makes this any different?

I'll be playing both, and still somehow make time for skyrim, and batman, and rage (once they fix it), and the new AC etc etc. Don't know where I'll get the time - cross that bridge when we get there...
