But so is the quality of living. I have 20mb/s capped internet.
I travel to work in comfort and saftey. I get dibs on all kinds of awesome tech. I can actually afford cool tech toys. So yes its more expensive to live here but its also alot more worth it. And nobody will ever be able to convince me that SA is the better option between here and there.

No one's trying to convince you. We're just trying to point out everyone's got their personal preferences, and entitled to their own meaning!

You think London > SA, well you're entitled to it. Doesn't necessarily mean we're going to agree.

I am actually jealous of that 20mb/s account but not a big fan of the capped part...

That was a typo actually, its uncapped. My line speak will in the near future be upgraded to 40mb/s.

Now that's Ayoba!

Oh wait you don't use this type of language there!

It is very neat indeed! :D

How much does it actually set you back per month for housing and groceries etc.

I live for Free, internet is about £30pm but i get unlimited landline calls and cheap internation rates.
Groceries is about £40 every 2 weeks.
Travel about £28 for me & £35 for my wife.

I thought that it would be way more expensive!
That doesn't sound too bad!
What is the going rates to rent a normal 2 bedroom apartment?

Depends on the area. You can play as little as 50pm but then it is in shitty area. Decent rate is about £500 odd per calendar month.

Not bad at all!

Ok, you've convinced me London is not too shit after all! LOL

Did i mention we have 2 differnt local game shows a year (GAMEfest & Eurogame Expo) The GDC is also very easy to get to from here. a film & comic book expo & the Manga, Comic, Movie Expo (which is on at the end of this month and I am going to) then you have the O2 where iron Maiden performed not a month past. Forbidden Planet, HMV.... Dude trust me even a small HMV beats the snot out of Look & Listen and Musica combined.

Nice, my brother actually went to London, believe it was back in 2001, he said to find a Job was kak difficult.
And the way he described the living standards and how expensive it was, scared me shitless!

But I'm sure it depends on the person's expertise and field of knowledge. What work do you do?

I originally moved here back in 04 and stayed until 06, then back to sa due to visa issues and now back for good.

It depends on person to person. You have to be willing to carve your own future out. Many people have a bad case of "the grass is greener" syndrome when they first come over and when it doesnt live up to their idealized vision they cant take it.

Good point!
After all nothing worth it, if you don't have to work hard for it!

But anyways, I'm out have a good one!
